yep we all got through the final stage with buddy having the only breakage upon exiting for the trip back!!!! was some great driving on display I had to use the winch but made it with no breakages and only minor damage to front right gaurd so am happy with that effort!!!!! definatly a great track!!!!!

I would be looking at the oil cooler first as well not just the orings but even the copper cooler inside the block as have heard of them splitting before where abouts are you as i have a spare cooler here as when i turboed my 2.8 changed the cooler for the surf one

You will require a new pinion seal and a new collaspable bush remove the old seal and outer pinion bearing replace the collapsable bush with the new one re install the front bearing, oil slinger and fit the new seal put the flange on and use a new pinion nut about $4 from toyota and tension the nut ...

I have one of those here from when I done my sas bought it of buddy but I cant use it i am using a 60 series one now it will fit the steering shaft of nearly all toyotas i think tie rod end suits hilux

Swap your front sump setup for a rear sump and only a small cut and shut of the sump for the diff pumpkin on full up travel and all will be sweet

In my opinion you can not go past the auto for offrod once you drive a auto offroad you will not go back to a manual

ok still havent got a hilux, i am looking at the surfs about a 94 2.4 turbo diesel are they a good thing or not?
Keep the cooling sytem in good nick fit a aftermarket temp gauge and they are a good car biggest problem with a 2.4 is they tend to crack the head but this is mainly due to a poorley ...

Also remeber to fit a thicker head gasket to lower the compression for the turbo.
Be very careful how you go with this, it is not a petrol motor. Diesels need the higher compression to run, if you go too far it will run like shi$ at idle, (may be good on boost but that's not all the time)

If you have rear leaf and fitting front leaf it should not be a problem I am doing a coil SAS on the smurf and so far the engineer is happy and has no problems

ok I have done this you need to change the oil cooler (the alloy bit on the side of the block) to fit the oil lines this will also change your filter to a z334 wich is a better filter but a lot dearer you will also need the oil line for the alternater of the surf as they are different as well then ...

They will blow a head gasket if the head has been off and they never fitted new head bolts!! they are a stretch type head bolt and should be replaced when the head is done!!

When the 2.4 cracks the head it does not normally put water in the oil or oil in the water however it does pressurise your cooling system! take the cap off and run the motor until the thermostat opens and check for any bubbles in the coolant
