Re: Some info required please

. Is getting a manual plus the auto out of a petrol possible? I notice there is a high roof (but still 12V) one on ebay right now though, and not a bad price. TI too. Worth travelling for? Diff lock, front and rear A/C... hmm it sounds good actually :) Ebay one is in QLD. Too far for me from WA for ...

I'll check on ebay ...cheers.

The inline pump is more forgiving on alternative/bio fuels.
Forget the rover, I would not consider anything out of the UK.

Re: Some info required please

The auto is the problem. I searched the net and found only one advert (2 years old!!!) for a 4.2 diesel auto.

Living in the West makes finding one even more unlikely.

Gen. Toyata ...had one on a 40, I recon it would have pulled the truck in half if the rear was anchored to something immovable. Awesome unit

Is there a LWB (Wagon, Extra-cab, Dual-cab) Diesel 4X4 out there that meets the following requirements:- 1. Inline injector pump (not rotary) 2. Timing gears or chain (not belt) 3. Reliable Auto transmission. 4. Rigid front axle. 5. No electronic engine management systems. I know GQ Patrol and 60 ...

I got under there yesterday, and it is now about 1 or 2 deg. on both sides. The camber bolt was loose on one side, and had rotated. Having said that, that side tyre is worn even, so probably has not been loose for long. The neg. camber is just visible to the eye now. Looks sane again. Still can't ...

Diff housing looks fine. Car drives straight when I let go of the wheel on a flat road, no hint of sideways movement. Steering wheel is centred when going straight too.

Well I agree with your thinking, so what caused this to happen? It has affected only about 25 to 30mm in from the very edge, and there is no sign of feathering, just cleanly worn down. The search continues :-(

I checked the toe yesterday and there is a little toe-out.

Suspension etc is all as new, drives perfectly.

Still no one with an answer to the question, "Does toe affect both tyres the same"?

Alien, that is what I thought. You would expect that to keep the car going straight the wheels would split the difference and side-slip equally. Here isa the whole story. The LHS wheel has far more negative camber than the RHS (which I have to fix soon) , but the RHS tyre is severely worn on the ...

Wheel alignment question

Can toe-in or toe-out affect only one front tyre, or does it affect both by the same amount and on the same side of the tyre, i.e both worn inside edge or both worn outside edge?

GV tyre sizes.

Has anyone with a 2" suspension lift only, no body lift, on a Grand Vitara tried fitting any of the following sized tyres, and if so what was the result regarding fouling clearances.

255/65, 245/70, 255/60, 245/65, 235/70, 225/75

I'd say so, skin eating degreaser and sandpaper struggle to get heavily stained cams back to that. Surely there's an equivalent. Well thats the thing, all the others that I can find take it off quickly, so more likely to be in tiny chunks. THe thing that sets this stuff apart is the 'Disolving ...

i think the Valvoline 5w30 is a mineral oil that is synthetic fortified, so just has synthetic additives as does most oil. The only Valvoline blended oil is the Engine Armour range,...no 5W30 in it. Same as their Mineral oil range, no 5W30. It is looking like the Penrite at this stage. I thought ...

I take your point. Because of the issues with the timing chain tensioner, Suzuki are recommending an oil which is helping to overcome their design issues, not the ideal oil based on local climate (temps). All I need to do is find a non synthetic 5W30 or 5W40 at a price that makes it economical to ...
