Sounds like the collapsable spacer between the pinion bearings has lost tension and created play between the pinion bearings. Not a huge job to repair and if the bearings are ok it can be done without removing the centre. If you are mechanical minded though I would remove the centre and check the ...

Congrats to all competitors and the top 3 placegetters especially Greg who has had his share of breakages/disappointments and it's good to see him prevail :armsup:
Not sure whether the results are correct though as it just doesn't seem right that Coops & Hummer have missed out on 3rd place :D ...

Just on the phone with Andrew Norman, who competed with Ant Kilner and pulled out due to a lack of drive, and he is saying the presentation is at the Wilangee Property near Poolamacca so there will be no news for while as I doubt there will any phone reception out there

Hummer & Coops were actually placed 4th aft SS12 & won SS13.
Greg, Laurie & David all DNF'd.

Have just had a quick call from Hobzee with an update.
- Still raining and the roads are currently closed :bad-words: But weather looks to be clearing up. If the roads don't open tomorrow they will run extra stages at Viewmont and miss some stages at Poolamacca.

I did some research a while ago and found the 79 series has a 110amp (i think) alternator. I grabbed one of these from the wreckers and found that I only needed to slightly modify my alternator bracket (1HZ 80 series) to make it fit. You also may need to swap the loom plug as there is several ...
