If you want to go with the old cable-speedo (as it suits the J40 best) , you´ll need the 80 powersteering wich goes without a electonic speed signal. You re going to mount the engine further back?? other options would be to put the radiator in the back or use an body-lift for the cab ...

we have done that with a J4 cab...dealing with the german TÜV ain´t easy, but it was no problem, just registered the car as the 80 further on, with slight modifications...

used an V2A aftermarket muffler and a Filter. The 1HD-T isn´t loud at all, no problem!

HDJ 80 with J4 cab and hydraulic cabin

Im after a few build up pics if anyone has some.. i have a old skool panel beater prepared to do mine but has neve done one b4 and would like some pics so he can see wats involved..

so has anyone got sum of the rear part of the cab mainly so i can show him some details!

yes it does fit, but it´s a lot of hassle...

Guy from Germany putted a HJ47 cabin onto an 80 series chassis.
