Re: Mid 2000'ish X-Trail Q

Adding to above, this car is used way below the manufacturers specs.

It is purely a practical number of seats/arses in that family.

The light thing is concerning (to him) because it may mask other issues

Mid 2000'ish X-Trail Q

Searched ? yes I did. A friend has such a vehicle and it has a problem. He runs it on gas, and the check engine light shows constantly. The car has been back to the gas system installer and back to Nissan ( I believe) They all think this is ok....... The car runs fine, sluggish at the start (friend ...

I also have one that I can't seem to sell, not popular in WA I suppose.

As to your reasons for wanting one, mine was drafty, rattled and was certainly no warmer.

I don't have a roof at all and prefer it this way. On a 92 Sierra if that makes any difference

I have the KM version, not the KM2.

A mate has a 2008 Jimny with these tyres and is quite happy with them.

I have BFG mud terrain in the 215/75/15 size on my sierra.

They measure just a touch over 27' with 15psi.

There are probably better tyres for each situation, but I find them a good compromise.

General clutch question

My girl just had her car serviced this week, just a 70k standard service. The bloke indicated to her that the clucth needs replacing, and he quoted $800 to do so. I was surprised by this as there are no noticable problems with the clutch. It is my understanding (limited admittedly) that if the ...

Drive one. They are slow, fairly uncomfortable, draughty, noisy and not overly practical. That said, they are also pretty cheap, very capable and a shit load of fun. Rust is definately the first thing to carefully check for. Also keep in mind, like every other, car the service history and overall ...

I run 22psi on my Sierra on road as a guide.
Maybe 24 - 26psi to allow for the extra weight.
Try various pressures and see what suits you, 32psi
would be too much imo

This was the culprit. I had already changed this with another new fuse.
Out of desperation I strarted over and when I replaced this one she fired up.

Cheers for the input

No idiot lights, no anything actually.

The immobiliser is a WA requirement for getting rego.

I'm not sufficently familiar with the car to know where the relays you mention are, but I do have a manual. So I can hopefully figure it out.

Cheers

New battery and completely dead

As per the title, I have a 1992 sierra which has been a f'king bitch of late. As a result of a dunking, I have replaced the alternator, starter motor and possibly unrelated, the coil, plugs leads and distributor. The car is in storage for the short term while in the process of moving. The other day ...

I have been to Frazer Island on several occasions and never had an issue with dingos. They are quite timid in my experience and keep their distance. I know of people having food taken by dingos, from unattended camps but that was more due to poor house keeping. There's a lot to see and do, just go ...

Start with the thermostat, next give the radiator a flush.

I don't know about your particular model, but I would take the initial advise with a pinch of salt.

I have BFG muddies on my sierra, no issues at all. Noise ? as if, the car has no roof or windows I have had them down to 10psi for driving on the beach / dunes no dramas. On my (now sold) Navara I had 3 sets of the same tyre, always got around 60k km. Like all tyres they're fine until you clog 'em ...

These were the tyre of choice for a previous work vehicle.
Typically 10,000 km and they were phuqed.
The environment was extremely harsh though. (Hard rock mining)
For recreational 4x4ing they'd be a good bet.
