Re: TD42 Stroker
Someone in America, is all I can say, they build up the big ends with nicosil welding, then regrind 3mm offset, which gives you 6mm extra stroke. They also made the rods and pistons to match it.

Re: TD42 Stroker
Cam is custom grind from CAM tech in Sydney, base circle is ground right down, overlap reduced, about .500" lift. Still running solid stock lifters, no rollers, may run roller rockers later, have double valve springs aswell.
Turbo custom build, by myself, balanced to 150,000 rpm.

Re: TD42 Stroker
I will have to take some footage of the beast, sounds and goes great, still running standard GU TD42T pump, its begging for more fuel, the turbo is making 28psi in 5th at 3200rpm, I imagine it would make alot more with more fuel. Idle is very ruff when cold and lots of valve train noise due to high ...

Re: TD42 Stroker
Stroker engine up and running now, still running it in, has loads of touque from idle, high lift cam creates alot more valve train noise but the benifits are worth it, I only have to feather the throttle to do a 100km/hr at 2200rpm, 33" tyres. Sounds awsome too deeper note combined with turbo spool ...

Re: TD42 Stroker
The hard part was already done for me by the Engineering company in America, the rods are shorter so the comp ratio is still 23:1 and there are no issues with clearance, the piston to deck height was .009" so no issues clearing the head with a grade 3 gasket. I did all the head work myself, I spent ...

Should be good for atleast 500k, if serviced and driven properly, also depends on how much fuel, boost, intercooler setup, EGT's etc.

Re: cost of high powered td42
So far I have spent $5k on my bottom end, stroked to 4.5ltr, custom H beam rods, custom pistons ceramic coated and allow another $3k for machining, dynamic balancing, then gaskets and bearings. I spent about a month porting and polishing my cylyder head after hrs, cost about $1.5k for CNC porting if ...

Re: 351 ford cleveland into 1976 G60 cab/chassis.
Auto would be best option, adapted to a GQ transfer case. Not many people modify these old G60 thats why you wont get many replies. You will have to enquire about Lockas from a dealer and if you cant get one, GQ Diffs and housings will save all problems. Will be a weapon with a 351. Enjoy your build ...

Re: pyro temp hotter after fitting intercooler How, Why?
The GT2860s would be a good matchup, great down low boost and torque from all accounts, haven't used one myself, I have built myself a hybrid from bits and pieces and had it balanced too 160k rpm, good for 30+ psi and still produces 10psi @ 2000rpm, 24psi @ 2500rpm. Ugotnuthin could set you up with ...

Re: pyro temp hotter after fitting intercooler How, Why?
Those switzer high mounts are crap, the compressor is too small creating a restriction, and the exhaust housing too big and inefficient, too slow to spool up, they sound like there working hard but actually not producing enough flow to create pressure. Restriction to flow creates pressure; therefore ...

Update, I have received my conrods and UPS have my stroked crank waiting for customs clearance.
Rods weight is approx 650grms on the kitchen anolog scales, so they are approx 550grms lighter.
Just waiting for pistons and pins now.

Re: What Fuel Economy Are u getting from your GQ Patrol turb
Yeh I found that if I sat on 130km/hr in NT my fuel was also 15ltr/100km. So I would do 130km/hr between Darwin and Katherine then 110km/hr until gay speed limit in QLD 100km/hr which averaged 11.5ltr/100km, fully loader three people.
Other trips with trailer 15ltr/100km.
