I had an old Pajero a few years ago, it was a 2.6L astron 4 cyd. I had a garrett T4 bolted to it with a dirty big SU carb (2 1/4" i think), it was a draw through set up. I ran 15psi through this set up and it never gave me any greif offroad. Angles in all directions and also rough ground, it ran ...

Nice mate, looks like abit of work to go still but will be very satisfying for you when it's all done. Extended shackles are easy to make, just need two peices of flat bar 50mm or so wide by at least 5mm thick. measure your orig shackle length, add what extra you need then cut the length. make sure ...

The FC 101's were used in Aust Army up until the late 80's to tow around the Army's Air Defense missle systems. Does sound real nice mate, it's nice having all that extra power too isn't it instead of having to stop and change gears, or starting out in a lower one and then not being able to keep the momentum. looks like all the hard work has paid off for you, well done.

Depending on how hard you will crawl off road, the 4.3 would be good in that respect. If you do a fair bit of road/highway then the 3.9's will go well with 31's. if your going to put in a set of crawl ratios gears anyhow i'd be looking at the higher ratio, 3.9's. then your highway speeds will be ...

I'm running 31x11 -15 on 8" Rims, i haven't had any steering probs, Suzukis are light so don't get affected much with the tyre probs other cars have with wide tyres. The same tyres on my jeep were all over the road. I ended up with MTR's on that to take the extra weight,

Not 100% as i've never done it, but don't see why it won't work. EFI works in relation to it's needs, If the air flow meter, Or MAP setup senses it only needs enough fuel for a 1.6 it will only give enough fuel for a 1.6. At low revs a 4L would use less fuel than a 1.6 going hard. It just means that ...

something else to consider, i don't remember exactly where i read it, maybe on a UK suzuki baleno site. Some guys bulding up one of the 1600 honda engines (d series i think) use suzuki pistons to raise the compression. So i don't see why using some honda pistons wouldn't lower the compression on ...

On a side note, if you can sort out the strenght issuses with a D44, they will give you outstanding steering. I have D44 on the front of my FSJ and it turns almost as tight as my Sierra even with it's extra length. I only run 32's and the AMC 360 is hardly putting out 450hp but i still think the D44 ...

mrmagoo, Not sure what your intended usage is for the engine, but the twin cam heads don't produce their power until higher up in the rev range. Mainly due to the cam profile. So they works great for street cars or something that you'll be racing, but not so good for crawling and offroad track work ...
