Melbourne Parts

I have just moved to Melbourne and was wondering if anybody on the list is from Melb and/or knows where there are some good places to go for Daihatsu Rocky (F75 2.8 Turbo-D) parts.

Also any good Diesel/general mechanic recommendations and places to exchange injectors?

Very wet here by the way ...

I am keen to make something up using 3" PVC.

Will need a bit of experimenting, but I found this site http://www.rangerovers.net/outfitting/snorkels/snorkel4.html which explains a bit about forming the plastic using heat .... not entirely clear but a good starting point.

The fuel timing. Yeah, looking at the manual, it looks fairly complicated.

Will the timing be OK after I replace the belt?

I guess nothing will be disturbed by replacing the belt.

Timing belt on F75 Rocky

I want to change the timing belt on my F75 Rocky. It's the DL52 Turbo Diesel, and the first time I'll be doing it.

Is there any thing that I need to watch out for, or any thing that will make it easier?

The few tips on Outerlimits 4x4 I've found:

Custom made greasable shackles and pins

Does anyone know who can make up a set? It's for an australian F75 Rocky - as far as I know nobody makes them anymore.

Better still, does anyone know who still does make them? Or has a set for sale?

I am in Sydney west - Parra to Penrith

Greasable Shackles for a Daihatsu F75 Rocky

I am having no luck sourcing them. They used to be made, but nobody does anymore.

I've tried Ironman, King Springs, TJM, and their suppliers, and had no joy (this is after they initially quoted me on them ... ).
Any ideas?

Does anyone know who can make some up, and rough cost? Around ...

.... and their suppliers also do not make them. The guys at Wholesale Suspension - Penrith (King Springs) say they can make them up. I can only wonder at the price. I was wanting to get it done all at once ... rather than taking it all apart twice. I might just have to go without for now. I'll get a ...

Has anyone had the spot welding pop where the cross member flanges to meet the sill member ? These are both part of the body proper. It went with a bang in a tight gully crossing. I have left it ever since, but would like to get it fixed.

Would replacing the body mounts help this, as they seem a ...

Further to the leaning Rocky...

I ripped out the leafs to change the bushes (Australian Rocky) and put everything back in, except the panhard rod. Guess what? The lean was significantly less (almost nil).

After struggling to get the panhard rod reatteched (had to drive passenger front wheel up ...

I need to address the leaning in my Rocky. BUT I can't afford at the moment to buy new leafs all round.

I need to replace the bushes anyway, so while I had the springs out. I was going to swap the springs left to right as they seem to be the same (the locating pin seems to be in the middle of the ...

I think I saw that Feroza. It was rocketing (and I mean rocketing) along Parra Rd in Sydney one night. It convincingly beat a tricked up Honda something or other. Low profile road rubber and lowered ... looked twice, that's for sure.

Manual for AUTRALIAN Rocky F75

Hi, I'm new here and was wanting to do some much needed work on my neglected Rocky.

Can anyone help me with getting a copy of the workshop manual for my F75 2.8 Turbo Diesel Rocky (Australian spec).

I did manage to get some of it, but was not able to get all of it.

Much thanks.
