Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

So Ben to your know how, which option (Vitara box or Cressida Box) would position the furthest forward and Also which box would make the maximum clearance if using a larger Vitara Radiator (EGJ20a radiator)?? Both my Vitara and Cressida adaptors put the box as far forward as they can go, which is ...

Re: Cressda Power Steer Conversion.

Joe - I notice you're mounting appears to have the box placed maybe 20mm forward from where BenT's kit would place it. My question is with my 2" BL does this still require a rag joint extension? If so would you recommend bolting the rag joint up and placing the rear lower bolt through the chassis ...

Yep, still making these kits, and have them in stock.

The power steering box comes from any vitara between 1989 and 1998.

You could also have a bent long side transfer case arm given you have gears in the case. Eyeball the longside mount and see if its twisted and bent.

The 1.6 single point motors are a nice unit. Like any EFI they start first time any time, dont cut out on angles etc. The 1.6 8 valve singlepoint is nicer to drive offroad in my opinion. They have quite a lot more off-idle torque, and like to lug much more than the 16 valve engines. They are great ...

The other two nuts are hiding at the bottom of the pic. You can _just_ see them in the shadow. ;)

When you say Standard Suzuki Rotors do you mean Sierra or Vit? Will this only go on the Rear Vit or would it go on to the sierra with perhaps a different bracket? Either Vit or Sierra will fit, but Sierra line up slightly better, as the vit ones have 1mm more offset, so the disk may not end up ...

Vitara rear disc brake conversion

A mate of mine wanted rear disc brakes for his Vitara, so I have developed a kit. It is a completely bolt-on conversion. It uses standard Suzuki front brake rotors, and common brake calipers from a Mitsubishi Galant, which include a handbrake in the caliper and are sized correctly to work without an ...

Sounds like you have the right clutch for your flywheel, but 5mm step sounds a bit much. The exedy website lists a 2.1mm step.

Which clutch kit did you use?

There are two types of flywheels - one flat and one stepped, and so there are two types of clutch kit. If you used a pressure plate for a flat flywheel on a stepped flywheel that would explain the slipping.

I can do just the wedge, but even with a 1600 you still need the pump mount adaptor. The stock pump position on the 1600 is really low down, and the pump will hit the chassis rail.

Some Vits come with a twin skin downpipe off the exhaust manifold. These are notorious for collapsing internally and partially blocking the exhaust, causing overheating, and eventually a cracked head.

Solution is to replace with extractors.

The new bearing you got superseedes the old bearing that was on there. They have a much better seal on them so last a lot longer.

You don't use the spacer with the new bearing - just install it with the lip and seal side towards the outside of the car.
