The electric fan will also put a large load on the alternator which may not produce enough current to offset this.
Also, as burnse said, the engine driven fan draws a LOT more air through the radiator than a electric fan ever will.
This is needed in hot climates, such as malaysia.

fit new shocks and leave the stock torsion bars in it for now. fit your new bullbar and wait a few months to see if the original torsion bars sag any more with the weight of the bullbar. if they do sag just re-index them to get more adjustment back.

Unless it is run out of engine oil, the head gasket or a cracked head will be the first problem. this can happen as low as 150k or as high as 300k.

both heads off. get them crack tested. I have heard of people getting BMW alloy heads welded and repaired so you may be able to repair the head that is cracked. An engine reconditioner will probably have contacts in this area.
