i have a 97 single cab bought it pretty stock besides a sagged suspension lift.

try and pick up a ute with less k's on it then that. and if you can something with abit of gear like a snorkel or bl.

2" suspension 2" body lift 33" tyres can be a weapon in the right hands.

installed

had to remove the rubber surround of the 4wd gear selector it felt to weird pushing against it with the egar selector.

my steering feels pretty tight and heavy not sure if this means i should loosen of the steering or not.

as far as i can tell the cables are ok and so is the steering shaft i am just about finished the fan shroud which i will chuck back on then get the grinder out and grind down that plate,

fuel filler cap is fine it is connected to the tray i am only guna jack that up 1" later on.

1st 3rd and 5th gear are fine, 2nd 4th and rev dnt engage nicely at all. how do i fix that i didnt even think of that at all.

i have got both the shrouds off and to get them off they got abit smashed up nothing a hammer wont fix however i am wondering if the bottom shroud needs to go back on or can i leave it off?

what is envovled with trimming around gears just grinding the body abit?

i just trimmed a bit out of the fan shroud when i put my BL in. id go with extended brake lines, better to be safe then sorry

anybody got any advice for me? do i pull that bit of metal off drill holes 50mm centres higher so i can drop that peice or what? kinda need some help today if possible so i can finish it off.

ok this afternoon i thought id get involved with my body lift after a year of it sitting there.

i have fitted the body lift and besides the bullbar looking stupid for a week i noticed that the fan behind the radiator has jammed on a metal cage looking thing, any clues on how to fix this up? i have ...

mine had a similar problem a few months ago is yours sometimes really hard to start aswell?

i didn't come up with a solution for mine as i started using it everyday it seemed to go away

I wouldnt waste my money on the rockcrawler gear.

I went OME in my hilux and im extremely happy with it.

Im still ditching it all for coils as soon as i buy a MIG tho :lol:

any specific reason you don't like the rockcrawler gear personal experience or just has a bad name for it?

i have been looking around and have decided on www.4wd1.com.au the rancho9000/rock crawler combo for my hilux, has anybody used these before? i have talked the the guys down there and they have told me different things which have made me want this set-up.

is there alot of work and expense to carry out the suspension mod's to have the shackles at a 45* angle compared to just buying a 2" lift for the specific model.

gday i had a quick search and came up with nothing.

i originally wanted to run a 2"BL and 2" susp in my 97 SFA hilux however i have since read that you get the flex from the shackle not the leaf spring.

i am wondering if i ditch the BL and go get some 2" extended shackles and add that into my ...

sounds interesting. i might try out some of these treatments as it seems they are worth while, when my net speeds up i will add in some figures and see how it goes.

My Hj60 used diesel treatment all its life and did 450 thousand k's without pulling the injectors or injector pump out. (ring land let go at 450 thou :( )

That was using a CRC brand of injector treatment.

Now I run the toyota diesel treatment in my 100 series. If it works half as well as the CRC ...

i saw you can buy a $15 treatment for your diesel engine you simply empty it into your fuel tank when you fill up. it claims to clean injectors lessen smoke and stop diesel knocks.

my springs are ready to go aswell as soon as i get some cash my way.

when i had my foot on the pedal while cranking it it eventually came to life, i had to have it revving pretty high if it got under 1k it would shake violently after about 5 minutes it came good, is this a normal thing ...

yeh well ill go give it a try today and try and fix it hopefully she fires up and i can take it to my mates uncle (diesel mechanic) so he can have a good look over it.

Just wondering what methods are out there of brightening up a ute tray as some of the paint has been chipped away and is starting to rust... its a weld body not a steel tray...

I was thinking just sanding it back (just on the affected areas) and putting sum rust spary on it/spraypainting ...
