Re: 100 series motor to fit 80 series questions

Cheers mate, he's got the a motor, harness, computer, coil pack. The main thing we are worried is the gear box and bell housing. The 80 series is a 5 speed, is the stud pattern on the rear of the the motor the same on all the 4.5 petrols?

Re: td42 best turbo

Mate, as stated it is on paper. However i am fairly confident this will be the case as we have had so many different turbos on the truck that we have a fair idea now... Will let you know as soon as i get it going (2-3 weeks from start up). If this works out the way it is meant to you will be able ...

i tried this with my gq turbo diesel and i found the water was not getting enough time in the radiator to cool down because the thermostat was opening too early, was great when idleing or just cruising but when i was up it the temp would rise a bit too much for my liking, it would fluctuate too much ...

between hot and cold is only very minimal, only a few degrees, wouldnt hurt to fit a new guage, its cheaper than going through the cooling system if its fine.

just depends on what size wheels you run, if you run 29's you will make more hp on the dyno than if you are running 37's, but the engine will make the same to the flywheel.
