swb are so much more fun to drive. easier to turn, and easy to park, swb do most tracks easier coz they are made by lwb vehicles... ( opinion...) just have to get used to going down steep stuff.... lol.... enjoy

go to your local tyre guy and get a bunch of catalogues. can probably use the search function on here and find some threads on tyres that will help you out as well Al terrains are ok for road sand etc... if you get something like a mud terrain and go on the beach you will probably just dig yourself ...

i had a ML triton prior to my patrol, i had the 8 coupler ERPS on it. there is a 10 year garantee on all new vehicles if you get a free yearly check... i found no problems with it. cost about $770 from ARB. Just have to do the general maintaining and make sure you look after bare metal scratches etc...

They can be good but first you will have to do a few inches of suspension lift and get some decent sized tyres underneath. The front part of the drivetrain is then a little bit vulnerable to breakage and you'll be looking for some better gearing, such as a sierra transfer case. It can still be well...

im a demolisher and we use a lot of KC tools gear, pretty rough with them as well, found the spanners and sockets etc really good... helps when you have a mate that the sales rep for them too.... and they have a lifetime warranty as well, not a lot of people stock them but i well worth a look

i bought my old patrol up from nsw. they asked me if it was "here" (so they can inspect) i said no they handed me the plates n i left with it registered. they only have to inspect the car if there are changes.......... eg new motor and they only have to inspect a percentage odf cars that ...

thanks for the info, i asked bout what i had to do to get the bodylift legal, and they said it had to go over the pits and they would pick on everything that was not right, has nylon blocks now, but getting steel ones put in. will be getting mod plates for the seat also... cheers

haha then he might as well of bought a stocker from qld instead of falling in love with a modified one from vic!! dont worry about it mate the rta and cops r stupid, they dont know wat to look 4 on a 4wd, i got defected on Australia day at stockton beach nsw they got me for 31's and fog light-wtf??...

i am getting it passed for a rwc, im just not sure because it is from another state if they will inspect it more than if it was already registered in qld, if someone with half a brain comes out to get the vin number etc, and see the body lift, thay might say, this has to go over the pits etc... hope...

Hi all new guy on this site so take it easy on me... Just bought a patrol from vic and drove it back to qld, its still registered in vic until i get the rwc in qld... thing is, the rwc is "forgetting" there is a 2 inch body lift and after market seats, when i take it to qld transport to ge...
