Re: buying a gq. swb or lwb
I love my shorty and my mates were blown away by how good it goes. Re: 16inch allloys and tyres,or 15inch sunraysias,on my gq?
Hi Pete. Id be sticking to the 16s. I had that decision a few months back when i bought new rims and tyres. Had 15s on it already but i changed to 16s to get the better load and speed ratings. 15s would be a bit cheaper but you would have to buy new rims. If you already have 16inch rims stick with ...

Is yours auto or manual. Is using pretty much the same as my 4.2 anyways as far as fuel goes. Can't wait til it blows up: would b a sweet conversion.

Re: Test drive in a 4.8lL
You put a 4.8l in a GQ. Sweet as. Was there much stuffing around or was it a fairly straight swap? Would love to put one in my shorty but never heard of anyone doing it. Hows fuel consumption in a gq being lighter than a GU?
Re: GQ rust
Gday muddyjunior. Bloody rust aye. I would be chasing down the best bog stock, RUST FREE GQ i could find and swapping all your gear over. It sounds like you have a bit of gear (expensive gear) on the old girl and it would be a shame to waste it. It would be cheaper than buying a gu and i couldnt ...

16inch ti alloys on 89 shorty
hey all, just found some cheap 16inch ti alloys and was wondering if they would fit on my 89 shorty without any hassles. Am running 15x7s at the moment so am guessing they should fit no dramas. Any info would be great. Cheers dizzle.

busted panhard mount
G'day all. have just found out why my 89 GQ shorty was trying to shake me off the road. While trying to fit my new adjustable panhards i have noticed the panhard mount is tearing away from the chassis. It is torn the entire length of the mount starting at the weld and running up the chassis about ...

shorty driveline vibrations
Hi all. Just done a 3inch lift on my 89 shorty. got some annoying tailshaft vibrations going on. Now... bought adjustable upper arms from superior and also a gearbox spacer from ARB. Yeah you'll be right mate. If your just visiting they wont get ya. When I lived in sydney and had a pretty big hilux on 35s and travelled up here (Yeppoon) a number of times without to much trouble. Got pulled over but no dramas. Like old mate said its a different story if you were trying to ...

Re: suspension lift for GQ shorty. How high?
Yeah i would love 35s but have been there before with my hilux i had (solid axle conversion, RUF, 35s, supperier leaves in the rear) and got absolutly fingered by the fuzz and dapartment of transport. So i think a 2inch will be the go. I do want some good flex but. What was this coil retainer kit ...

suspension lift for GQ shorty. How high?
hey everyone. Just after some advice on how high to go on a shorty without to many hassles. I know tailshafts are very short. I was thinking around 3-4 inches? Ive played with hiluxes but am new to coils. What dramas if any can i expect? Who does good kits? What brand? Only wanna run 33x12.5. Any ...
