Are you replacing the dowels as well? Without the dowels the studs will shear very easily.

Re: OK, lets talk battery trays (eye candy inc.)

1FZ-FE, 1HZ, 1HD-T/FT all have the battery on the passengers side, just a battery tray for one of them. Someone will buy your battery tray for dual setup on one of the other fitments.

Re: Oil filter sandwhich adaptor

The diesels already have oil coolers fitted (oil to water heat exchanger, its an oil core that sits in the water jacket under the alloy plate the oil filter screws onto), for your oil pressure guage you can remove the sender for the factory gauge or use a 'T' piece if you want use the factory gauge ...

Re: landcruiser front diff housing interchangable

you can bolt 79 series or 105 series swivel hubs onto an 80 series diff or go the other way the 80 and 105 are heaps wider than the 79 i think the leading arms are located further apart as well (80/105) rails are wider just hook a drag chain round a tree lol    and hit reverse :D ...

Re: 80 series double cardon

If you fit free wheeling hubs the ABS will be disabled & the light will stay on until the hubs are locked. This will also make your vehicle illegal & may also result in insurance claim rejection.

Sounds a lot like the rear diff, try dropping a small amount of oil out of the drain plug to see if there is any metal in the oil.

Re: exedy clutch no starter gear teeth

That flywheel is a genuine flywheel, you'll notice the centre is cast & unmachined where the excedy flywheel is machined from single peice of steel. Either your vehicle never had a dual mass or someone has converted it using a genuine single mass flywheel. What vehicle are we talking about anyway?

Yes you need to take the ring gear (flywheel teeth as you call them) off the old flywheel & fit it to the new flywheel.

Had a late 80 series with the 1HD-FT in at work a couple of months ago with the same leak, also had cold running issues. Pulled pump off & sent away for overhaul, main housing was worn, fitted a new pump after the boss haggled with Toyota & waited a few weeks for it to come from Japan. Custo...

Drill out the rivets & use high tensile bolts to bolt it in as mentioned previously making sure the bolts you use have a shank which is a tight fit in the holes & the shank is about the same length as the thickness of the crossmember & chassis (use washers as well)

There is a proper brake caliper assembly lube available, also some of the rubber greases available are designed for suspension rubbers & other applications & are too thick & sticky to use in brake hydraulics (the Castrol red rubber grease for one)

I think it would depend alot apon tyre design and construction too, a radial 35X12.5X15" a/t is going to handle alot differently to a simex ET 35X12.5X15". Getting the right combo is what is important. Take formula one for example, the very top level of tyre design, so much so that the ty...
