Cruiser ute roof's
Quick question,
Does anyone know what year models the cruiser ute roofs were the same for the 75 series? I've got an 88 model that is beyond repair that I need to replace.
Cheers in advance

Re: The Welding Thread
Cheers, thats some food for thought. I've seen the Unimig mini mig 180 well priced, and google is telling me that these are pretty good little welders for what I need. Can anyone verify this?

Re: The Welding Thread
Yeah a couple of the places in town had the 180C, but unfortunately both of them wanted a bit more then what I was willing to pay for them.
Has anyone had any dealings with Everlast welders or know much about their reputation? Google seems to be giving me some mixed reviews about their welders.

Re: The Welding Thread
Hi guys, I'm looking at purchasing my first mig welder, as the trusty stick is just becoming a bit aged and un suited for some of the jobs I'm doing. Can anyone recommend a small unit that is capable of welding anything from car panels up to a maximum of 8mm plate, between the $500 and $800 dollar ...

Re: relocating 2H alternator
Yeah I've got the stock brackets so I'm thinking it shouldn't be to bad to do. Its going in for a service this week so I might ask the mechanic about his opinion. I'd like to keep both of them as high as possible, so it may call for some brackets to be fabbed up for it

relocating 2H alternator
Hi guys, I have a 1988 HJ75 landcruiser with the 2H motor and I am wanting to move the alternator from its current position (sitting roughly halfway up the motor) to lower down, roughly where they are on the 60 series. My reasons for this are that I want to put in an a/c compressor, and the mounting ...

Re: go kart project?
Ok then, as long as you can stay on track. Set yourself some milestone goals as well, this might help to keep you on track. Google hand controlled vehicle systems, you might get some inspiration from that. Otherwise, depending on your budget, space, skill, time and overall motivation constraints ...

Re: go kart project?
We had that same sort of project at school as well, although only for 6 months, and the teachers said absolutely no go karts. The reason being was that the majority of them weren't being completed in the 6 month time, even a basic design. And the ones that were completed, a lot of hours were spent ...

Re: Mounting Sanden 508 to 2H motor
Just an update for those interested. The Sanden that I picked up came out of a VK commy, and it was mounted with a flat plate on the base. So what I've done is got the factory a/c mount and I'll drill some holes through the plate on the pump that line up with original mounting holes on the bracket ...

Re: Mounting Sanden 508 to 2H motor
Yeah it is for an endless air setup. I've already sussed out that the denso compressor won't be suitable, hence the Sanden pump. Do you know what pump is in that picture? It doesn't look like a denso but it looks like it is using factory brackets.

Mounting Sanden 508 to 2H motor
Hi, I'm in the process of gathering parts to install on board air in my 1988 HJ75 ute and I'm trying to work out how to mount the compressor. I will be using a Sanden 508 compressor and I am wanting to mount it like they are in the 60 series wagons that came with a/c, like the photo below. Does ...

Re: Custom fuel filler neck size + angles
My sub tank has a filter about 10cm along the pipe and it only allows a trickle of fuel past at a time. Check to see if you have the filter there and that way you can just take it out.

Re: Roughly how much is a rebuilt 2H worth
Haven't brought it. It's still in a wrecked car that we know of. But as a complete motor it would be a good buy. The owner isn't 100% sure on the price of it yet but it won't be more then $5000perko88 wrote: So what dd you pay for your 12ht?

Re: Roughly how much is a rebuilt 2H worth
hmm so the consensus seems to be anywhere between $2-3500. It would be sold complete with starter motor and injector pump as well so this might improve the price yeah?. Well if it does come to it, then I'll keep all the advice in mind. Thanks guys for the replies. Oh and just for the mods Re. ads in ...

Roughly how much is a rebuilt 2H worth
About 3 months ago, my 2H engine s#*t itself so I had it rebuilt. We went with the rebuild option because at the time we couldn't find a 12HT that we like the looks of. As it turns out, we have stumbled across a 12HT that was rebuilt not to long ago for a price we are happy with (damn Murphy's Law ...

Re: UHF External speaker - can you make one with an old spea
I look at doing the same thing except with a slightly smaller speaker. When I went down to Jaycar to get the bits to do it, they had small speakers for about $12 that plug in using a headphone jack. The one I got was about 50x50mm and is fairly loud. Just a thought and it will be a lot easier then ...

Re: couple of quick 75 questions
Yeah I've decided that the drive shaft isn't an urgent item to replace. The amount it moves isn't that much of a worry and there is still enough grip in the splines that it will last the odd 4by trip every now and again.

couple of quick 75 questions
Got my 1988 HJ75 ute back from the garage today after it's normal 6mth service and they reckon the rear diff is just about shagged and the front drive shaft is in need of replacing. I have done some searching on here and google and found some talk that the 60 and 80 series diff centres will fit into ...

Re: Repairing aluminium tray
I don't really want to put a plate over it as it is where I mount my rear ladder rack, meaning that it will be on a lean, although not a very big one. Plus we tried to bend it back up into shape and because of the tear on it, I won't.

Right, so that's the damage that was done. Luckily it's only on one strip. It's not the best shot but that trying to shoot down between some stuff in the tray. It has probably bent down 5mm or so.

Repairing aluminium tray
I went 4bying the other day and left my rear ladder rack on because I was just to lazy to take it off. The end result was that I hooked it on a tree and it bent backwards, ripping the corner of my tray. Its only pushed the bit of the tray down and luckily enough it is only on one of the aluminium ...
