It may be worth running an engine de-sludge, you will be amazed at the goop that comes out - even from a well maintained engine.
The oil does do some of the cooling and it it is not properly able to do this the actual cooling system has to pick up the load.

I have an FRB-13.
I have a CAV infront of the genuine nissan filter.
Mine is mounted unfer my ute tray - I suspect a bit of work to mount on a wagon though do-able.
I chose the FRB-13 for the corrosion resistance and the fact it has a claims 18000+ hrs of operation.

I also sourced a 1 way valve ...

The first one, you will loose some pressure through the CAV filters. Volume is no issue as the IP will recirculate excess as part of the lube/cooling/normal handeling process.
My experience is up to +7psi on the inlet yields good drivability gains, is safe for your IP and aids in prolonging your IP ...

Careful though, the GU ZD30 has the H260 rear diff, not the H233 that the GQ and GU 2.8 has.
Only some did.

If your turbo is a T25/28 flange, check ebay for a sub-$100 rice burner dump pipe off a sr20 or similar?

To be honest, the cost does not change if you remove bits from the kit.
All the components are bought in volume and are a tested DYI kit.

It was interesting it cost no extra to also have them fit it and do a before and after dyno run and adjust the tune, so this is what I did before leaving ACT. I ...
