Dellow in sydney make a v8 conversion kit that for my money seems a little more complete than the Mark's one

Also better value for money as it includes a new clutch plate and other bits.

the earth trigger on the door courtesy lights is used by the alarm to sense a voltage drop when the door or bonnet etc is opened

If the alarm is armed then the voltage drop 'should' trigger the alarm

What size tyres are you running? Bigger Tyres = Less Caster

Also check the toe in/out, I found on my old 40 that the wobbles got worse after a factory alignment. I gave it a bit more toe in and problem solved, totally !!

I think it's pretty farked, when we changed the clutch a few months ago I could turn the motor by hand.

I would of thought that should have been near impossible on a diesel.

It seems that you have taken the Chev into account as an enabler to get you the percieved power you think you will need for the OBC. Just a good turbo set up and a intercooler and exhaust should give you plenty of power to begin with and it would be reliable.. seriously tho ... engine is only one factor in the game ... you must be able to maintain the engine and vehicle while in the middle of no where. cause it would be a shit if you payed all that good money just to pull out cause you can't fix it ...
