Re: Picked up some bad fuel.
Didn't bother with plugs and leads as yet just put half a bottle of metho with half a tank of fuel and then put some premium unleaded (95 octane) in and is now running a hell of a lot better. Don't think they like the low octane fuels.

Re: Picked up some bad fuel.
Well, I thought I'd give the Metho a go anyway, what harm could it do. Does seem to have made a bit of a difference although only had the short 30 k trips to and from work. Other suggestions have been carbie needs some work! So this weekend I will double check my fitting of the Pertronix, might ...

Re: Picked up some bad fuel.
Not a stupid question and yes it is carby. Bear with me while I tell the story! I fitted the Pertronix kit and the car started running like a dream, that was for about 60 K's, then stopped for a while and the car started idling really rough and down around 300 RPM, nearly stalling. Started driving ...

Picked up some bad fuel.
Hi guys, I seem to have picked up some bad fuel in my 4.2 Petrol Mav, at least I hope that's what it is. I'm going to drop a bit of metho in the tank. I'm after some opinions on whether I should put the metho in and let it sit overnight or just before I go for a drive to get it through the system ...

Re: GU Rear Wheel Bearings
Just had a look and $150.00 off ebay is'nt to bad, best I can do is a kit for about $140.00 per wheel, unfortunately there's not a lot of stock around but I can get a couple of kits.
Like I said if you buy off ebay just ask what brand the bearings are!
Dave.

Re: GU Rear Wheel Bearings
Not sure of a cost off the top of my head, I do know they have actually come down in price over the last few years. I will have a look in the morning and try and post something around lunchtime. There are really only 2 manufacturers that make the Rear Bearings, NTN or Koyo, If the bearing is not ...

Re: GU Rear Wheel Bearings
I've been in the bearing game for 30 years and 2 things I can tell you from that. A/. You cannot tell if a bearing is failing by just spinning, unless it is absolutely stuffed it has to be under load to hear any noise. Makes sense when you think about it, it's normally making noise when it has about ...

Answer from Goodyear
I have just received the following reply from Goodyear marketing, "Normally a tyre like an MT/R is designed for and is best used in off road conditions. We would recommend spending a high percentage of use off road. These tyres may be driven on-road and our warranty would cover them provided there ...

MTR's
As I said I have had 2 previous sets and never had a problem, also I won't be letting this stop me from buying another set.
Just thought what he said was interesting, I have also sent email to Goodyear Australia's tech department, will be interesting to see their reply.

Goodyear MTR's
I have just been informed by a Goodyear store that the Goodyear MTR's are for off road use and not highway use and warranty would be void if driven on road. I have had MTR's on 2 previous vehicles which I have used probably 80% on road / 20% off road and have never been told this before or had any ...

G'day Holtrol, The heat is probrably what you call radiating but outside temp does'nt seem to make much difference, it can get hot on a cooler day and stay cool on a hot day. The air con does'nt seem to cool it because of the colder air in the cab it somehow seems to stop the heat generating if that ...

GQ HOT AIR FROM GEARBOX
I, know this is a subject that has had some mention before but it really has me confused. I cannot understand why the gearbox seems to get really hot and in turn blows hot air into the cabin. Somedays I can drive 30-50 K's and it does'nt even seem to heat up. Later that day I can drive down to the ...

Can anyone suggest a good wheel alignment SPECIALIST in the Newcastle area, plenty of guys in servo's and workshops say they can do them because they've spent the money and bought a machine, truth is not so on a 4WD. i used to get Mark at BTA Ballina to do my alignments but thats a bit far to go ...

Landcruiser Semi floating and full floating rear axle
Does anyone know the exact meaning to Landcruiser's Semi floating and full floating rear axle.
Is it semi floating being leaf suspension and full floating, coil suspension.
You find these descriptions in some parts catalogues - eg. bearing catalogues etc.

LPG on GQ - How much?
Hi Guys, Can anyone give me an idea of how much it should cost to have LPG fitted to a GQ. I'm looking around at both Short and Long wheel bases. I rang a local installer and they tell me that it will cost $3700.00, take the $2000 grant off and I'm still looking at $1700. That seems a bit steep to ...
