was just wondering about the 186 as i will have it from another project very soon, and i paid nothing for it, its also significantly worked. i was thinking as it isnt nearly as big of an increase it would possibly not need as many cooling issues to be adressed, however i was just seeing some replys

a mate of mine mentioned he has been hearing of a 4Y turbo setup, but when i asked more specifically he didnt know alot...

is this true, if so is it worth the money and who does it...


lastly, would a signifcantly modified 186 motor swap into a 88 Hilux??

My 88 Hilux has a 2Inch BL, 3 Inch Sagged Suspension, 32's and a rollbar.

top of the rollbar sits at 2.2metres. smacked into a few of those clearance bars that claim to be 2.25 or 2.3 or the such.... eh, i am yet to come off second best

we have a 3.8l V6 mustang motor with an auto sitting in the shed if you would like to have a go sticking someting different in a lux price dictates everything... im waiting on tax return and a couple of other sales before i can even think about doing this.... but a mustang motor sounds like it ...

im assuming i could use a rubber piece with chain holding to position for mudflap... im sure ive seen it on a couple of tray designs... sharp edges are sweet to fix, just bumper... i was a lil confused as i dont think the ute came with a bumper really... was jsut tub... but i spose the bottom part ...

hey savage, why not stick to a diesel and put in a 13b or 14b turbo into your rig. more reliable and better fuel economy and you don't have to replace the rear main seal annually!! been thinking about available options for my lux as well. if u have the money ?!? why not spend it ?? if your got the ...

i've got a vp series 2. the marks adapter kit is great. i also run a standard 5 speed in my hilux, it hasn't given me any trouble,and we give it shit. we done all the short course events last year , and practise regually for winch challenges. the power is great, just do it cheers brian what model ...
