the air locker assembly is pretty straight forward, mark both caps so you know which is which. one side of the air locker will either have a snap ring you need to undo to get the seal housing off where the air line goes into or it will have 3 allen keys you undo them, then you simple undo each ...

I used to use low range found it alot easier to drive but now that ive slaped a turbo on high range is no problem :)

hey guys got 2 Q's

firstly ive heard 550 is the going temp for pyro on a diesel, is that celcius or farenheit?
also ive finished mine and ive turned the fuel up about a quarter of a turn but it made no change to idle speed and i think it needs more fuel is this correct?

sorry update on this. It turned out to be an injector. Must of just been a coincidence that it failed at the same time the injector was siezed open which is why when i cracked an injector line all i was getting was what looked like airrated diesel coming out which is why i thought it was air. doing a right hand rear wheel bearing on a diesel gq with disc brakes. ive pressed the bearings off the axle my question is, is there a spacer between the inner and outer bearings that sit between them when you press the bearings back on the axle?

hey guys,
my patrol has cracked at the firewall where the right hand inner fender thingo meets the firewall.. its broken the spot welds and moved forward a couple a mm, ive heard this happens on patrols. do people usually just weld them back up or what? the body mounts like fine cheers

I'm looking at purchasing a GQ Patrol LWB and want a 6" suspension lift with no body lift and rang around a fair few places in VIC and im looking at $4,000 installed or $2800 on its own... could this be right?

Everyone that I've spoken too does not reccomend it for a street registered ...

Read up on OLDMAV's posts on Patrol4x4.com, 1993 - 1998 have weaker rods and pistons and wont take as much boost as the early TD42's.

If you are a member of Patrol4x4.com post up a question to OLDMAV or PM him.

EDIT: i spoke to the RTA and they checked up on it for me,

it was a national reccommendation in which NSW DID NOT take up, i cant say if other states did or didnt.

they also said that if they decide to take the reccommendations into effect then all affected will be notified.

hey guys, was at tafe today and was talking to some guys from there, 2 were saying that from the 1st of july there is a law that any 4wd that is lifted from standard and does not have a engineers cert can get a defect along with a 3 demerit point fine, this is in NSW anyone heard this, if thats true ...

yep, have seen this when the vehicle has been used for really heavy towing or when vehicles have been oveloaded constantly. I saw this exact thing in a Telstra GU about 4 weeks ago. It had cracked out on both sides in about the same place as you suggested.

hey mate, i have a 96 gq, it has 262000 on the clock. mine makes the labouring feel up to about 1050, i put a new clutch in and it make it a little better but still does it. ive heard it with alot of diesel gq's.

i just got a clutch from clutch pro i forget the exact name. supposedly a big company that deals with 4wd in brisbane swear by these clutchs. they reckon standard PBR or daycon clutchs have around 500kg clamping force. and this one has 620kg i got it for 330 at trade price
