Mate, I think this is a great idea, I'm sure it can be pulled off. I have no idea what the gains would be or whether it would work well but I wish you luck. I have had this exact same idea going through my head the last few days and was researching it a bit last night but found this today. I too ...

OK guys, I am armed with a new reco box, clutch kit, freshly machined flywheel and have fitted a new pilot bearing. Problem is that I was supplied the wrong throw out bearing in the clutch kit and I couldn't bear to use the old one, so I play the waiting game again.... Also, does anyone know which ...

Problem is, it cost me $600 and it is semi pulled apart (I started to pull it down to put the bearing kit I have in it) and i won't get that money back. PM me if you would like to discuss further:) flyology ...

Cheers, thanks heaps for that guys. I have this posted on IH8MUD as well: I bought a spare box a few months ago with the intention of replacing the bearings in it to fit to my car. Long story short, the box was opened up before I got it and it looked to have been hosed out and then siliconed back ...

I know about the vacuum operated push button shift and that I can take all that off to convert back to manual, what I really require is a reputable business in Melbourne that can sell me a reco gearbox and transfer at a resonable price. I've been fukcud over already with second hand so it ...

H55F advice wanted:)
HI there. I have a 1988 FJ70 with a 3F on gas and the gearbox is finally rooted. 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear syncros are stuffed and it whines really bad in all gears, particulary 4th. Transfer will need replacing too. What I would like is some advice on getting a reco/change over box for it at a good ...
