There's a mob in Brissy who import low k Jap engines and give warantee. They have TB42's in stock, I think somewhere around $2,000 for the motor complete. I would be going down that path. Rebuild would be worth more than the car from a Mechanic. Would this be fitted?? Also have they got more HP ...

Wheel alignment done today:

Toe in was out a little bit

Wheel balance OUT MAJORLY

Will be investigating a steering dampener for the arm to panhard as it now has become VERY light when steering on the road, and the wobbling is not being absorbed properly.

MAYBE the clunk is actually a solenoid cutting out or even a tachometric relay.(this relay is triggered by the negative side of the coil and supplies power to the solenoids).
Mine has got 3 solenoids:
One at the tank
One at the in side of the converter
One at the out side of the converter.

I can be driving along then all of a sudden the whole vehicle shakes, the steering wheel shakes violently.I have to stop ,then when i get moving again it is gone.
This doesnt happen all the time and it does it with my both sets of tyres,so that rules out wheel balance.
I have castor plates.

Difference between rose joint & tie rod

Hi there all
i have the usual steering wheel wobbles.
Wheel bearings-GOOD
Swivel hub bearings-GOOD

NO MOVEMENT DETECTED ANYWHERE.

I've been told to change one of the tie rod ends with a ROSE JOINT.
How does this work any different as they both move etc etc?

Please help me understand.

I prefer old school.
O.K. efi goes well but if you break down in the bush theres no computers, coil packs, or modules etc out there,at least with carby you can adjust float levels or whatever to make it run to get you out.
Who cares if it does run ruogh ,it gets you home

Gas tank lift on Mav

I did long ago a body lift but the gas tank needs lifting. Any ideas as its held on at the front by 2 bolts and the brackets (welded to the tank) go flat towards the front for about 4 inches then they go down and backwards (at about a 30 degree angle basically till they rejoin the tank. At the back ...
