BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
Well I've tested my system after it wouldnt shut down properly, and have found that the Fuel Control Relay is rooted. After trying all day to source one from Brisbane wreckers, of which none who got back to me had any idea, I've got no idea where to get one. Is anyone wrecking a BJ42 or a HJ45 or do...

Re: Diesel Bleeding Screw - BJ40
Well no go at Toyota, there isnt one is Australia apparently. And to make it worse I had to bastardise the one I have, after the little bleeding screw came fully out on Saturday on the motorway, I had to jam another screw in the top of it to stop it pissing out. Now that I cant get the same part fro...

Diesel Bleeding Screw - BJ40
Changed the fuel filter on Saturday on the BJ40, and after bleeding the system the screw kept turning and didn't end up tightening up. Tread must be buggered or something. Any idea where one is to get a new one of these? Tried Repco today but had the usual "whats this thing, gee it must be a sp...

Anyone got any updates or advice?
You could always come around and fit my setup and see if mine all works - I bought my new setup months ago but havent got around to fitting it yet.
At least it will cancel out your mechanical skills being the problem if it all works

Re: Best place to buy auxillary battery from online?
Shame you don't live around Ipswich Brisbane, you can go to Century batteries at Carole Park and buy seconds. They have scratches or or moulding deformities on them for a song!! Does anyone know if they still do this out there? And also does anyone know if they are open on Saturday mornings? Cheers,

Ah thanks for that guys. Gee they dont miss you on the price, might just have a crack at doing it myself. What does everyone think the neatest way to bend it would be? Im not hiding the rust on my truck, none in that area, just like the look of it. Thanks for the feedback about sealing up the panels...

40 series checkerplate
Just wondering if anyone knows of places here in Aus, preferably QLD, that supply the rear quarter panel covers in checkerplate. All the yanks seem to be all over them, but cost a $hitload to send over here. Must be someone over here that does them.

BJ40 Fuse Box
Just wondering if anyone on here has attempted to clean up their fuse box on the old truck, with perhaps a new box with blade fuses instead of the glass style?
I remember seeing someone a few months back talking about it somewhere on here, but cant find the post anymore. Any pics would be great

Well, went into TJM and enquired about the XGS range, but no luck with them for a 1979 model, they only supply for 1980 onwards. Leaning towards a Dobinson package now cause have extended my budget. Anyone else done a complete Dobinsons fitout? I've been quoted roughly $1700 - new leafs, shockers, s...

Hi All, Had a day trip on Saturday up to Double Island, everyone else that I went with left around 8am, but with myself driving my 40 I thought I would leave about half hour earlier. Got up to Noosa all good, no problems until I went to start the beast after fueling up. I thought one of my mates had...

Safety Certificates QLD
Hi All, Live in Hamilton, Brisbane, was wondering if anyone on here issues safety certificates at all, to finally get my BJ40 on the road. I had it checked over when I bought and have fixed up the things that were highlighted to me, problem is though that place is always too busy to fit me in. So wa...

Hi All, Just bought a 79 model BJ40 last week, and have been loving reading all the info on here. Just a few questions though, hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction. - Disc brake conversion - Have noticed a lot of people have converted the front drums to discs, is this a relatively e...
