Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build

700hp was referring to the capacity of the turbo and not the minimum acceptable power figure we wanted to attchieve. In saying that it would have had around 600hp at the flywheel. We're in the middle of a rebuild on it at the moment using cp pistons, so we'll be able to push it a bit harder once its...

Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build

the 100 series pistons aren,t as good as the 80 series pistons (the skirt is shorter and the ring spacings is closer) so yes keep detination under control . and i would have fitted a cometic head gasket aswell as the factory gaskets aren,t that flash with boost . if you are fitting a after market e...

Finally got it running today. Only some minor things to do do like wiring the lpg injectors and fitting a tow bar before it's ready for the dyno.

I've taken a start-up vid which I'll post up soon.

Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build

Will be interested to see how it goes. A mate has a 100 solid axle petrol, turbo'd.... Undergoing build number three....or it's four I think actually. Last few rebuilds were due to (1) water ingress snapping a rod and making all sorts of mess/carnage, (2) melted pistons and scored bores, reasons un...

Re: FZJ105 GTX35R 700hp Turbo Build

Are you just using stock bottom end? How long will it last? The pistons are the week link so keeping detonation under control is the main aim. We're fitting a knock light so the owner can keep an eye on that. The rods are good to around 800hp so they should be fine. The owner is prepared for a full...

What AFM issue are you referring to? It still had plenty of resolution left at 15psi.

Re: My GU TB45 Turbo LiLPG Build Thread

I don't want to open a can of worms but I'd prefer a front mount full of mud than a top mount, you might as well call a top mount an interheater rather than intercooler. How often do you find yourself in the situation in that picture? I find I vary rarely need much power in the bush(only mud really)...

Re: My GU TB45 Turbo LiLPG Build Thread

it would only do 10 psi on the dyno, but on the road it got to 15. I fitted the turbo with 200,000k's and sold it with 250 000. motor still ran great when I sold it. hope this helps. hopefully turbo a 4.8 soon.

Re: full bolt on tb54 GU turbo kit!!!!

Just looked at their website and the tb48 kit doesn't have an intercooler in the picture? I ran 330rwhp and 15psi on my tb45 for 60 000km's(200-260) and didn't have any issues. I think the weak rods issue has to be the tune because in theory I should have thrown a rod in that time. I agree with nort...
