you wont get much more with softer coils.
the main problem is the radius arms where they mount the chassis.
the bushes reach there limit way too quickly and the standard radius arms just dont allow for flex.
im looking at going an x-link for mine down the track.

heres some updates with what ive come to call, the NISSOVER :D
still no rear drive so full flex has not yet been achieved. im awaiting a call to say my rear shaft is done. :armsup:

hahaha.
i wanted to go 35 on the rubber.
was gona end up costing me like 3 grand to get the tyres, beef up the diffs to handle it all.
i got the trol diffs 70% converted, brand new 15x10 king steelies, 35 MTRs and a few other lil goodies for 1900.
i was very tired of exploding rear diffs.

ive got patrol diffs under mine, i dont need spare bits anymore.
well not any driveline bits anyway
i was gona say when you get it all sorted out we'll have to set up a day of wheeling.
always like going for a play with another rangie.

You need to fit a whistle to the primary bowl, which costs a mere few bucks and extend the vent, which are the round tube that stick out the top, to as far as possible, simply sliding some fuel line on will suffice, cutting it at an angle at the air filter height, this will prevent fuel spilling ...

im about to buy a disco with gq diffs under it, then swop them over to my rangie.
the front is apparantly a straight bolt in with the radious arms, the panhard rod can be joined by cuttin and slippin one into the other and welded together. not sure on the drag link.
will need new control arm ...

theres no question bout it, the axles and diffs are weak as piss, ive busted 4 centres so far and ive only got 32's and ive had the car since november. :twisted:
but i do have a question, if get my hands on some 4.1 crown and pinion wheels, besides the cvs, would that help lesson the load on ...

i think u'd get alot better air flow with a less retrictive material. still good for a freebie, and better then nothing.

ive got a mate with a S1 disco wearing 35's with only bout a 3" lift and plenty of guard trimmin. doesnt seem to scrub much either.

i had a lil over heating issue on my rangie, it wasn't gettin massively hot, but warmer then i would have liked it too.
i've been eyein off those vents on the side of the bonnet as well.
there on ebay by the way, 15bux each.

i did a 2" body lift on my 85 rangie for 78 bux. (thats not including the cost of fuel to get down to my dads mates panel shop and borrow his hoist to do it

I agree the early rangies are better, with all landrovers thou its rust, engine overheating (maybe later models thou), electrical gremlins, wear on box,oil leaks (well they all leak thou)
the suspension is usually good, but its worth a look see what under the 4 corners. I had 1 odd spring size ...

my 85 has some serious backlash in it. still not sure if its in the diffs or boxs, but its never gotten any worse since i've owned it.
my old mans rangie has had it for nearly 8yrs now and never been an issue other than noise.

-2" OME lift with 1" spacer in the rear (soon to be heavily tweaked)
