Gen 2 LWB to Gen 1 SWB - Rear Axle/Diff Assembly
Hi, I am transferring the rear axle/diff/suspension from a early Gen2 LWB v6 3.0 into my Gen 1 SWB. I have checked the ratios and they are the same, just a bigger diff and has the Factory airlocker installed. I just wanted to know if I will need to get the propshaft shortened? I managed to source a Gen 1 Rear Diff with the Factory Air Locker. I was under the impression that I could just replace the rear diff of my Gen 1 SWB as both vehicles are Diesel, but found out that wasn't the case. The LWB Diff is a little bigger and would not fit.
