im in qld and my 4b has been over the pits countless amouts of times. they have never said anything abount my sliders being welded. i have welded a piece of channel to chassis then welded flatbar to end of tube to bolt onto channel. not saying its the right way or legal, ive just never been picked ...

i had to do a body lift to fit my 3rz. (yn67 88) the power streering reservoir sticks up to high for the bonnet to close and unless you beat the crap out of you firewall it will hit there aswell. you may be able to bolt box onto motor and put it in that way but i wouldnt recommend it as if you need ...

ive had some pretty stuck pins and never needed to use oxy. just cut the pin on the inside of the shackle with a grinder and bash it out..

ive got km2s (31s) wear pretty good had 1 hole in the sidewall (unrepairable) i will be bying bighorns next. no complaints offroad in shale rock,rock,mud ect or onroad just price difference.

Weding can be OK but.. doesnt matter if its for comp use or general recovery, the paramaters are the same. I test welds as part of my job. just make sure you put a tyre inbetween the font bar and wall. the last thing you want to do is scratch it

thanks guys, What engine did your lux start with, do you need to fit a petrol tank with EFI pump or do you already have one? it was a 3ltr deisel. i bought the lux with out motor. and i bought a whole statesman. will try and use pump out ofit if i can similar to the way i done the 3rz in the other ...
