Hey thanks shorty,
Have also heard of a bundera matched up to a hilux setup. Yet to do some further hunting into this as it seems there maybe some custom adapters to be made

Dual transfer 40 series split case
Hey outers, Looking into a dual transfer for my 45 series ( late model split case). I haven't been lucky enough to be able to find a supplier as of yet. I have done a few searches here and on other forums, which does provide good info but no actual suppliers and no one who has bought a kit for the ...

Thanks for the update, I was thinking OME. It's seems to be a tried and tested brand. Bit concerning about the failures all the same. Who was supplying the ultimate brand? Or did you find them online?

Re: 40 series suspension
The 45 standards work really well and have the pack pretty much down now, so I would rather stick to what works. And I want to keep it the same wheel base as the front has been extended 2", But I may look into it. Any ideas on a true and tested brand of new springs? Just a pre bought pack or is ...

Re: 40 series suspension
I'll jump on this band wagon. Looking at replacing my rear springs in my 45 which have sagged, as no one resets spring up here in Bundy anymore. I haven't been able to find a decent suspension shop in town that knows there stuff ( everyone wants to just throw coils at it). What brands should I be ...

Re: No vin or manufacturers plates, what can I do?
Sorry to here mate, I had a similar problem with my 40, you will need to get it engineered for an LO1 from memory, there are forms on the qld transport website that you can print and start the process, Alternatively if your car is later than 85, if you contact Toyota they should have the details on ...

Fair point about being written off, but of that does happen (touch wood), I'd still get to strip the parts i want/need. Re: Good Insurance
I have been leaning another way. From talking to some of the other guys and myself alike, we use our trucks on a daily basis still and most insurance don't want to touch our rigs. Shannon's seems pretty expensive and seems to limit the use of the vehicles somewhat. our main concern is theft and ...

Just wondering what most of you guys, particularly the more modified guys do get insurance? if so at approx. what cost and who through? I own a couple of soft top 40's one of which is pretty modified and don't like my chances and I know a few guys here in bundy that race which have the same problem ...

Re: 40 Series tyre placard
well my biggest issue is now tyres. I have spoken to Toyota who has sent me paper work to state that my 72 ( Chassis ) didn't come out with a placard. But now the issue is tyres. He pulled me up on tyres as they were not factory. The are too wide apparently 15 x 8 sunny's. From what I have found ...

Hey davd not to correct you because I know what you are doing, but I have a current drama regarding my blue plate and my canary sticker on my windscreen. Haha onyone got a spare unimog tyre placard? Re: 40 Series tyre placard
Hey guys thanks for the reply, I had a gut feeling that may have been the case, what do you think would be best for the qld transport inspector, pinch on off a 60 or see if he will accept that they didn't come out with one? The reason I ask is because I have been taken off the road for defects and I ...

Re: 253 in a FJ40
Nothing wrong with running the 253, they rev hard and are heaps of fun, my cooks 253 will drag my 5ltr off on the beach all day. Parts are cheap and easy to source. The conversion is really easy and should only take a day or so depending on your know how. Do you know what type of conversion kit you ...

I'm not to familiar with the performance of the Mallory Electronic Distributors, but they do have a rep of no slouch. So what do I use ...

Just for reference I have a Spartan locker in the rear of my hilux and I really don't like how it disengages and pops for that reason I wouldn't fit one to the front because I would be worried of the shock loading on my cvs I don't know anyone else running one so I dont know if its normal I have ...

No problems. Just made a phone call to a good mate of mine who just did the LO1 on my truck. As per everyone's response he won't do it unfortunately. But to be honest it's just going to be hit and miss. I know it used to be done, so it's just a matter of finding the right engineer that will still do ...

Good options mate,
On the flip side of things. I have a spare 45 chassis front and rear diffs, 4 speed box and a few other bits and pieces. Im looking at moving soon so may be an idea to do a clean out, send me a P.M. if you want any more info.
Cheers.
