I have a 2in body and 2in suspension lift on my gen 2 hilux and i found my 35's wouldnt scrub the body but they would rub on the leaf springs when trying to turn.
It actually reduced my turn radius by alot :?
Thats with -40 offset wheels too
Then i went with some IFS hub spacers, which fixed the ...

Re: Worn trunion bearings?
In the quotes you've posted, the first example does away with disassembling the hub/spindle and removes the entire housing, fully assembled.

I don't see how loosening the kingpin bearings would make it any easier to get the CV out. It's not like they make the opening any bigger...
Maybe the CV is a cheap after market one made a tiny bit smaller to cut costs?

yeah the kingpin bearings, the bearings above and below the actual CV.
Usually ive had to loosen the kingpin/ nuckle bearings off and then rotate the cv to the flat points to pull out the cv/axle.

Re: Looking for 79 series diff info
Yeah tried searching but it wont let me put in just "79"
if i put in "79 series" i get 60,80,100etc series results and theres alot of crap.
Anyway Is it just the stubs and rotors that i need to swap out or do i need to swap out the cv's and axels, diff with it?

Looking for 79 series diff info
Hey guys im looking at picking up a 79 series diff this weekend to do a front coil swap in my 85 hilux.
Is there an easyish way to convert it to a 6 stud pattern? I have heard i may be able to swap in 80 series hubs?
Do the 79 series have the same wheel mounting surface length as an IFS lux?

Re: Cant bleed brakes on hilux
I think my next attempt will be to try and get another mastercylinder and booster off a hilux with the same calipers.
my brakes work a bit atm, if i pump them about 5 times they seem to grip hard. I cant see any brake fluid leaking out anywhere though.
Its just funny that with the front calipers ...

Re: Cant bleed brakes on hilux
Replace the master cylinder and you will be fine. It sounds like the increased fluid capacitiy in the callipers is too much for the master cyl to give a full application. If not the secondary piston may be stuck in the master cyl. Give it a tap on the end with a hammer to free it up. What method ...

Re: Cant bleed brakes on hilux
I dont think the mastercylinder doesnt have enough power for the new brakes. The size difference is not much and i have seen mates upgrade calipers before on their cars without doing the master cylinder.

Re: Cant bleed brakes on hilux
I havent measured all the pistons to determin the increase. But visually the SFA calipers have 2 large pistons and 2 medium and the IFS calipers have 4 large pistons. The 4 large ones of the IFS calipers are the same size as the 2 large ones in the SFA calipers.
But my understanding was that a ...

Yeah mate like dave said, check out the salvage auctions. Try pickles.com
I have seen a few 3rz hilux's go through pretty cheap. Cheaper than you will find at a wrecker anyway. And you will have a heap of spares, or you can sell it all off.

The 1ggte will bolt up to the g52 using the 1ggte bellhousing and if you dont do any clutch dumps and punnish it it should last for a while. A g52 with slotted gearbox mounts should fit in the 4runner (fits my hilux, they are very similar).
