1999 jimny with 150,000kms 215/75 tyres 2"inch suspension lift.
When in 2wd. The transfer case makes a whining noise that increases with speed, however in 4wd no noise is there.

had the same problem with my jimny once i lifted it and put on bigger tyres. I have the tough dog return to center steering dampner on mine currently, was $250 and pretty easy to install.
cuts out most of the wobble/shimmy in the front, well worth it

wasnt that simple at all. turns out what had happened is the screw that connects the rod that changes the gears unscrewed its self so the plastic bushes just fell out of place because of that.
to fix it i had to open up the compartment where this was, which required me to remove the prop shaft ...

So what happened was i was driving in 5th gear, and when i went to shift down into 4th nothing happened and the gear stick is real loose and just moves around, mean while the car is stuck in 5th gear ( which was a pain to drive home as i had to ride the clutch to keep the car moving as i slowed for ...

I have 50mm spacers on my jimny, found them on ebay for about 70 a corner.
Really easy to fit if you can get your hands on a pair of coil spring clamps

Ok so i fixed the problem with them not locking in properly; followed the lines back to the engine and found a break which i fixed, one thing that i noticed wen i took her for a drive is that if the hubs are locked in 4wd then when the steering is fully locked to either side there seem to be ...

I had to lift my jimny 2 inch to stop the rub from my 215/75r15 on a 7 inch rim. now i have no problems at all

on my jimny 99 it has the auto locking front hubs. Ive been having some problems with them not engaging properly of late. got it all looked at and there seems to be no reasons why they shouldnt work perfectly.

Another thing worth doing if you plan to go 50mm+ is a tail shaft spacer and extended brake lines. Im looking into it for mine and found http://www.snakeracing.com.au have good gear

hey currently just got 50mm spacers in atm, however got a 40mm old man emu kit to go in.
can i still put the spacers in?? or will it lengthen the shocks too much, and also brake lines etc...

my back door on the jimny wobbles and shakes like crazy over bumps, esspecially with the added weight of the bigger tyres. i have attempted to adjust the hinges, but think i just made it worse.
what can i do to stop the door moving so much wen it is closed??????
