Re: brake problem
Sorry no photos of the valve.
You would need to be a gynocologist to get a photo where mine lives!
One point if you use the rear port on the m/c for the front brakes and the front for the rear it should work better.
If you check the workshop manual the front port only feeds 4 of the front pistons ...

If I was doning this I'd de-register the existing set up and re-register it as a new trailer, with a new VIN, at the rated tonnage you want.
To alter the existing rating would require an engineer's certificate.

Re: Transfer case rear seal leak
I had my rear output flange off this week and noticed it has a couple of nice grooves in it from the seal.
Could be the flange is worn enough to allow it to leak.
You could use a speedy sleeve or just get another (good) flange.

First I replaced the m/c to eliminate it from the potentiallist of problems. Not hard or expensive so I did it.

Brake Problem with GQ brakes
I have an odd brake problem.
I've built a custom vehicle that uses a few GQ parts (transfer, diff, drive shaft, brakes) and I can't get the rear brakes to work in sync with the fronts.
The brake system is GQ master, hoses, calipers and discs.

I've done well with Valiant Slant 6 mounts.
I used them on my blown Lexus (450-500hp) and they outlasted a set of Jaguar V12 mounts (tougher version of Rover mounts) by a factor of 4.

Re: 6.0 fly by wire deletion
The FBW pedal would be pretty easy to seal up.
The wiring conector is a water proof (resistant maybe) item and some sealant on the removable cover would see it done.
You would need to sink the car to get much mud or water into it as most water would just flow over/around it.

I've used both cordless and 240volt and I prefer the cordless as it isn't quite so inclined to throw you across the room when the hole saw bites.
No difference between them in how the cut the hole or quality of finish.

Help me select a wheel
Strange request.
I'm after a 15" alloy wheel that will clear GQ front brakes.
The wheel would need -40 offset and be 6" wide, I may be able to squeeze 7's on but would prefer 6's.
The last requirement would be a spoked wheel.

I haven't driven it for probably 9 months as I'm busy on a new project and it has to live at my FIL's as I ran out of room at home.

Not yet. I haven't seen the car in 3 months!
I'm planning on getting it out next weekend so my 16 year old on his "L" cna drive before he gets his licence.
He can't drive it after he's on "P's" as its supercharged so I'll try and get some photos then and post them up.

Re: How tough is a GQ tranfer case?
Thanks for the advice.
The reason I posed the question is I was laying under a GQ looking at its exposed chain and was suprised at how small it was.
The GQ had had a big front-ender and the case was smashed hence I could see the chain.

I agree about the 1,000nm but this is distributed to both front and rear axle and the front axle will break traction before it can do too much harm. I expoect this si whey the rear drive shaft is so much beafier than the front.

How tough is a GQ tranfer case?
I'm using a GQ transfer behind an LS3 and 6L80E transmission.
This means it's seeing around 550nm of torque fed though a 4.2:1 first gear.
The interesting part is all that power is fed into the front drive flange and the rear drive flange has been machined off as this is in a 2WD application ...

Given the rig is over 2.1metres tall it handles remarkably well.
It doesn't wander (tramline) and is easy to drive.
I haven't had it over 110kmh since doing the changes but I would recommend them.
It also drifts really well in the wet!!!

If you put your new bushes in the freezer for 24 hours they will be just that little bit smaller and will slide in easier.
If you really want to make it easy heat your arms a little as well and the bushes will almost drop in.
