I just use a drop of engine oil, never had a problem, need to be careful using antisieze on threads as the specified torque may not take this into account - due to the high lubricity of antisieze you can over tension bolts/studs, there is a conversion chart for antisieze torque correction.

Re: what chainsaw to buy for camping & 4WD trips
I'd say anything stihl or husky, they are both probably as good as one another and dealers are plentiful - in the cheaper models they are both pretty plasticy, but thats why they are cheap and light.

Re: 6V LED Motorbike Light???
I'd use an LED torch, ive got a fenix tk40, some of the high end ones can require good batteries though, the fenix really wants 8 NiMh AA eneloops, normal AA's aren't a real good idea. Very useable beam, you really don't need to focus a beam that good, probably makes double the light of a LED 4d ...

If theyre bolts i'd run spring washers, be a bit careful if screwing into alloy, something like a keensert or helicoil would make the thread in the head stronger if you stripped it, i know loctite will break down with a flame, i'd check to see how high a temp it can handle.

Mine had no dowels, the pto dog gear had no holes either, i don't think it'd matter too much, it ain't gonna be a safety issue if it 'did' break, the worm won't let the cable unspool.

the switch itself is a carling switch, if you google carlingswitch you should come up with the different styles, some don't have lights, momentary action, different colours, contact arrangements etc, maybe somewhere like jaycar? ebay US? carling is what you need to look for though
