Re: Warn high mount brake shaft mod - bolt size?

Yes you could buy the correct drill for the job, but most people wolud have a few small masonary drill bits and if they dont the required size for this job wold cost ~$10, so a very cheap option. For the average joe buying speicalised tooling is not cost effective. We are only talking bout a 6mm ...

Re: Warn high mount brake shaft mod - bolt size?

Few more details on the last page of my build thread. I hit it with the oxy first, . Dont so this as the heat effected zone from the heating causes all sorts of abnormalities in the material. The easyiest way to do drill it is to use a masonary drill to start with and counterdrill where the shaft ...

Re: Winch power cable

I dont think there realy is a better option, as DC switching gear for that level of current would be far to expensive and bulky to fit. On my tourer i have 24v for the winch and i use an isolator so that the albright cant be accidentally switched, and have also mounted the albright horizontal so ...

My solution is going to be running 95mm2 battery bridging cable into cab/plastic terminal box via glands and using cabac cable cutters. If someone has a better option thats reliable i'm all ears.. No, they will hit on the caliper plus no one makes a 15" rim in the five stud with the correct PCD.

Re: The Toyota grenade.

I think you will find that the "boost spike" is not the root cause. There are a few problems that compound into the grenade effect. 1 being the crank case breather, breathing from the intake before the air flow meter, coating the wire in oil therefore over boosting. 2 the EGR valve dumps almost ...

that and the problem can be fixed, unlike the ZD30 which nissan refuses to acknowledge, and there is no apparent fix other than rebuild(if you can) or replace The only way a ZD30 can grenade itself is if EGT's get out of control. Running one with a boost gauge you'd spot trouble long before and ...

Re: turbo blankets and covers

I think that the Turbo blanket (Beanie),is primarly used to keep the heat inside the turbine housing (exhaust) side of the turbo rather than to sheild other components, as heat equals energy (plus a few other things) in a turbine, such as a turbo. It is a little bit contradicting sometimes with ...
