hey just wondering if anyone can help ? ive cut and shut the rear half of a 92 surf chassis onto a 82 hilux i put 2 inch lifted coils into the rear to try and match the hieght of the front but its still about 2 inch's to low and they dont have springs on the shelf any higher . is there a spring out ...

i used a toyota ct 20 running 11psi and its been trouble free since i put it on 2 years ago but my engine only had 80,000 on it when i put it on .im not sure about t25 0r t28 sorry cant help there .also lukeys 4x4 made the manifold for me and did a awesome job .

you could space the center bearing down or put a single piece shaft in it out of a late model lux

the one thing im strugling with is the 92 body was a v6 and the alternator had a internal reg and my diesel has a external reg . i managed to wire up everything else glow plugs,start relay all the gauges . just dont know what wires go where for the reg . can anyone help? please

hey guys swaped bodys this weekend went well only had to move two body mounts all the rest were the same the wiring was the hardest part but its all sorted now . ill try to get some pics up

ive fitted the same style of light just doesnt have that ring around the outside and they are definatly a improvement

the crown wheel out of a 4.8 center is thicker as the pinion is smaller compared to say a 4.1 center the crown is thinner and the pinion is thicker if that air locker is out of a lux it will fit all live axle luxs and im sure can be used in a high pinion as well . it looks like a early air locker ...

there is no easy answer could be 4.1s or 4.3s pretty sure its not 4.5s and 4.8s were in the early petrols i think . there is a axle code on the tags if you get that code im sure someone on outers can tell you what ratio you have

yeah i run 4.8s and 35s and works well even with a little 2.4td and i also recomend locktup very helpfull!

good to see its sorted . just thought id ad if your still running points its well worth changing to electronic i had a 81 hilux with a 253 and changed it to electronic and the improvement was unbelievable .heeps more power and revs and water crossings didnt bother it as much .

For the extra dosh, the 1kz-te motor is worth the go! but is much more indepth, as its got an ecu and wires going everywhere. hey thanks for the tips guys ill measure the wheel base tonight. if the 92 is a slightly longer wheel base i might get away with it as i aready have the front diff moved forward 5o mm so the 35's clear.

hey rockcrawler , i dont mind having a go at pulling it apart do you know if its like a lux and you can just unbolt the transfer off the back of the box or do you have to disasemble the transfer ?

have you checked the hoses between the turbo and the inlet manifold ? on my turbo (a ct20) there is a big O ring be hind the circlip that holds the compressor housing on .maybe that is leaking ?
