Best Diesel motor for normal 4wding patrol 3lt OR 4.2T

Hi out there, getting a veh set up for the big trip round Oz at the moment it has a 3lt SD33 turbo motor in it, hasn't had any problems at this stage.
For the long haul leave well enough alone? Or slot in the bigger motor?
Any hints would be great.

Ref motors running hot ect ect? I had been using moreys oil supplement, I would add it when the motor had an oil & filter change. the temp gauge would drop 10 degrees. That was used in a hot 351 & driven hard whenever I had the chance.
