I have seen one done by Weaco. From memory it only a 36 AH battery but probably good enough for an overnighter in the boat.

I use a 75 AH in our boat with a 70 litre trailblazer. It does OK on overnighters.

Main Battery Drained

If a bloke happend to leave his lights on all day after driving to work in the flogging rain and totally drained the main battery, what are the chances of that battery ever working properly again ?

Does this damage a cranking battery. It is only 3 months old.

Thanks,

Dan.

Pretty sure the 80 series diesels ( like mine ) have a sender on the fuel pump in the fancy models. Mine being the DX pov pack model doesn't have the sender in the fuel pump. Be an expensive option to change the fuel pump to get a rev counter. Check out tiny tach in the states. They can make a ...

Go for it. I just strapped a turbo on my 80 series 1HZ and am very pleased. It's an AXT / Garret kit with aneroide. It had only done 140 k so still pretty fresh. I have no intercooler so the boost was kept quite low ( around 9 psi ) to keep exhaust temps down. They told me 50% power gain and I ...

I just did some work on my cooling system as a result of findind a bit of grass coming out from the space between the A/C condensor and the radiator. I was pulling it out as it appeared but it just kept coming. I pulled the radiator out and it was chocka a block with spear grass and seeds. I held ...

I'm hearin ya. I just strapped on an AXT kit. Now the 94 pov pack 80 boogies. The diesels really benifit from the increase in manifold pressure. Good advise not to pump them up too much. 9 - 11 psi is all you need. There are no internal mods required. Just some oil and water plumbing. Air intake ...

The trick is to allow plenty of time for the return journey. If you just blast up and back at top speed because of time restraints you will break something and miss out on some awsome sights. Those old Landrovers ect used to do it no worried because they were going slow as. Bit of a crap situation ...

For about 400 hunjy you could have an aneroide fitted to take care of fuel flow. The fuel is controlled by boost automatically. Mine works really well and very little smoke at all rev ranges. I don't worry about a pyro because I confident the aneroide is not dumping too much fuel in there and taking ...

2" would be about all you need up here if you don't go crazy. Invest in good shocks and bring spare ones. Lots of corragations up there. I took a hilux with 2" lift through the Laura - Maytown coach road and didn't bounce off much. That's probably the most difficult road I have done on the Cape so ...
