champion effort, mine is early model one piece, have more trouble breaking unis than anything else. but i'd rather smash a uni than a diff or transfercase. just have to put up with it , v8 and front lokka = broken bits.

go for it whack a turbo on 1hz ,but make sure you replace big end bearings. for that kind of coin you could put in 350 chev crate motor with adapter and all the good shit and still have 10 grand change,more money than sense.

can't work out pics, front tailshaft snout comes off transfer with a gasket, front tail shaft has been cut and double cardan joint replaced with a uni.

the adapter has AA on one side other side has 1107. i'll try and put pics up.

mine is 100mm but i have 3 inch lift, buy them and trim to size, cheaper than trying to buy odd length. 4 inch grinders work well on 40s

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- killa, i have an 8 and it doesnt have any oil issues... my mechanic thinks it is toyota oil (laughing) as he services 4 and none have any issues with between 10 and 90,000km. i recon the new v8 would be way too ...

is there any way to tell from the outside what transfer case is in my 40? i'm trying to order a rebuild kit.

mine are hi tensile m12, length depends on what blocks used

stick with the 80 if you go to 90 or more you may end up with a lot of crunching.

1975 red 308 resistor on my coil is missing do i need it? still runs good, maybe a little bit hot. still trying to work out all the bugs in a new vehicle, well new to me.

what sort of fuel range can i expect out of under seat tank with mild 308 and turbo 400 with standard diffs.

does any one know what the first number after fj40 means?

if their dodgy mod plates is there a chassis number somewhere that i can check them against? or is it only the body number?

last time registered was on compliance plate #

mod plates for seats and engine/gearbox match, compliance plate # fj40211239 12/75
but all running gear appears to be very early.
