Old truck standard silver top motor made 195rwkw with a badly slipping clutch an yes they do have plenty of torque. My new car im hoping for over 200.

hi I would think a GT2871 would be good on this engine, being a roller turbo it wold be less laggy than a T04 turbo

I know how the boost compensator works ie reduce fuel at low boost etc.. but maybe put a shim under the diaphragam/boost comp. helps to overcome the fuel reduction problem :), because I only noticed it after I turned up the boost.

Answer on his behalf, T25 is not the same as T3, T25 is a bit smaller, I have bought both adapters from him, CT26-T3 and CT26-T25, quite a bit smaller the T25 when compared to T3

Have a kit from Snow Performance, Stage 1 kit, no fancy electonics to go wrong, adjusted to inject at 15psi, works very well, so happy with it. Noticeable seat of the pants feeling.

well im startin to seriously think about doing the ute up for OBC and other similar events. in regards to engine upgrades etc what is the main go? i figure bigger turbo would be the main one but what to get is another thing. had a look on garrett website and theres about a million ...

You will probably find that the turbo is well out of its efficiency range, pumping hot air, which is less dense, therefore the pressure is dropping. Assuming you are measuring boost at the inlet manifold, not on the outlet side of your boost control before the waste-gate actuator.

Anyway, to night I was out testing.

Boost was set to 1.5bar, only for this ride.
And the ting is that it reached 1.5bar at 2500rpm, then the boost/power ...

Okay, so max. 250hp then at the flywheel??, otherwise you need to remove the fuel pump and have it modified to flow more???, if I understand you correct.

I thought a modified 1HD-T could match a ditto TD42, but not so :cry:

It is not that many comp trucks with 1hd-T around, but one kiwi truck ...

How much power can you get out of the stock CT26 turbo, it is a 95 mod 1HD-T engine. Gonna do serious mods to it, big exhaust, FMIC, extractors, adj. pump etc..... was thinking of getting a GT30 roller turbo if the stocker is too small.

I can get a T25 pretty cheap. I understand it has lots of fast spooling capacity but won't make lots of top end power. Sounds good for the bush. Would it be a good choice ?

Thanks guys, have 4inch lift, 35" tires on it now, the GT2871R.86AR is working great on my 2.8 GQ, lot of power up in the rev range, starts to boost at 1600, 0.5bar at 2000 and 1.3 bar at 2800, so being a 1HD-T 4.2 in the Yota, a GT30 seems the turbo to use I guess.
