Who is running optima yellow tops and what's your opinion of them ?
I'm about to buy a pair and I just want to know if it's a good move.

Re: How much should i pay for old warn hi mount?

Woo, wait a minute. I wouldn't give up on the high mount so quickly. Nothing wrong with a low mount, but from what I've seen the high mounts are the way to go. They have great line speed, better than any low mount that I've seen. The high mounts also pull very well. I've seen some heavy rigs ...

I had a similar issue. I increased PSI and changed the camber (IFS rig) so that the tyres lean in at the top, out at the bottom.
Race car style. LOL. It really did improve on road cornering.
Good luck !

Wow, I'm surprised about that. I never would have guessed about temperature gauge. I have a carby vitara and it plays games at around 100k/h and when I rev it above 4500rpm. I was sure that mine was a fuel pump issue. It's all above my head but I've been told that the mechanical fuel pump actuator ...

Re: best 4wd to modify for off road

There are plenty of happy Rangie owners out there and they do well. They drive nice ad there is a certain, disconnected feeling about driving a Rangie. I don't know what it is, but they always feel great. They are a bit hard on the wallet and some say they are not up to the Jap gear. If you like the ...

Re: What Mig welder ?

I'd go for one of the reliable brands. I bought a Cigweld Transmig turbo165 about 10years ago and it's been fine. You can use 0.8mm wire on a dinky roll or a 4.5kg roll. It wasn't cheap at the time, but they are affordable now. You can use it with or without gas. Parts and repairs are cheap and good ...

Optima's are AGM. Look at their marine range, they go up to 900amp hours. I bought an Orbital and have to say that it's indestructible. What brand is the 140 amp hour ?
How many amps per hour does your fridge draw ?
My advice would be to stick with a major brand AGM.

Re: Clicking front end full lock

How much lift have you got? If any, have you got an adjustable steering arm? The noise you hear could be the CV cup binding on the axle (or itself) at full lock (beyond it's working range because of the lift changing the geometry of the steering travel). Could be worth checking the stops on the ...

Re: wiper squirters not working

Yeah, Sounds like a fuse eh ? You could google "Mitsubishi Triton owners manual" and download that. It will tell you where the fusebox is. The wiper motor should be on the circuit of something else. Is everything else working ? The wipers are on a hinge and lift off the windscreen. You could tilt ...

I got my GV for the same reasons... it was a one owner that had never been offroad, i have since done a few mods like lift and bigger tyres. I have found it hard to find a winch bar but you can get most other bits. You might need to import them from the usa but that can be cheaper then buy similar ...

Re: Car Trailer with removable flares

That's quite a good idea. I'd suggest one of two ideas. First off I'd try to move the flares out as wide as possible. They will need to be cut off then make up a spacer and welded back on. Make sure your tyres can move around and won't rub on the guards or spacers. I'd say this would be your best ...

Re: no drive to front wheels

I'm no expert but I think you'll find that on the front drive shaft of these Jeep use a CV whereas most other 4wd have universals. These CVs do tend to be a little weak. I'd say yours is busted and has been at least partly removed. If you are going to be taking it on serious 4wd tracks you can get a ...

Cut away the old bearing carefully with an angle grinder. Hold the pin in a vice. It looks to be hard to get at but still possible.

Re: To GV or not to GV, thats what I wanna know...

Take a good look underneath it. If it's done any serious off road work you will see evidence underneath (bent stuff). Also pull up the carpet as carefully as you can to look for sand and rust. Of course you can get sand in a normal 2wd car just from holidays. The CV replacement is probably normal ...

I've got 15mm spacers in the front, 30mm in the rear. 2" Tough Dog springs and shocks, and a front diff drop bracket. I run 31" muddies. I push it very hard to try to keep up with twin locked Patrols on 35s. I'm twin locked and have lots of bash plates and crawler gears. I've broken 3 CVs in about 2 ...

Are they for your GQ ? If so I think you are in trouble. As far as I know, high beam will be the same for LHD or RHD. In low beam LHD dip to the left and RHD to the right. Whatever you go for, make sure you use a block and a double line pull (where you can). I agree the Nissan is a heavy beast. They are also capable, so if you need a winch, then I assume you are fairly stuck and need a really strong bit of kit to pull you out. Just make sure your winch bar can take ...
