Thanks guys, and you're right Gary, I've only seen the D3s on the road. I think I will try to keep my eyes open for a trip where there's a D3 and a D2 then maybe try to jump in a passenger seat. While I like to think I'd be doing some tougher trails, realistically I probably will not be driving a ...

D3 or D2a?
Wow... It has been a very long time since I've posted on Outers!! I'm hoping I can call on opinions to help me decide on my next car. I've been away from 4bys for about 4 years now but the bug has bitten again. :D I've set my heart on something that will be moderately to very capable off-road, which ...

With my TDI D1 on 33" XTerrains, I managed to break 2 diffs and an axle, admittedly going pretty hard. I then switched to 35" Silverstones, ARB lockers/carriers and 10 spline Maxi axles. With this set-up the only thing I ever broke was a CV, so I swapped them out for County CVs. That setup seemed ...

They are also easily upgradeable with Toy centres (lockless) or Discovery 24 spline axles (worked for me). Mine is twin locked on 33s and never had a problem. That and you could buy two locked Rangie diffs for not much more than two open lux diffs. Plus already setup for A-frame rear, coils, discs ...

Depending on how heavy the van is, and how steep the drive is, and how regularly you do this, you may want to consider mounting a temp. towbar on the front of your truck. We had the same sort of issue when I was living in a house with a really steep drive way and used to reverse a 3t boat up. Didn't ...

Not quite as bad as a RAV4, think it's sort of in the Nissan X-Trail market.

I'd definitely go for the Calmini kit - it's worth the money just for the control arms (which you can't buy separately). Apparently if you change the shocks to OMEs the ride improves substantially. Plus it's just so blue and blinging. I've got tough dog springs with a 3" lift in my SWB, with OMEs at ...

Nice one... I agree with landy_man - join up with a club who offer some driver training, and get out and use it! I did that with the landcruiser club in my first year. The club wasn't for me, so I didn't renew my membership, but I believe the training was invaluable, and it introduced me to a few ...
I assume you've got 2 inches in the body and springs or is it more than that? 1 & 3/4 body and 4" coils. Oh, and polyairs in the back to limit up travel. Thinking about them for the front as well. Looks very Why note just extend bumpstops instead of using Polyairs? What you doing for gearing? Its ...

Take it back to see if they will rectify all the problems. If you no longer have any faith in the original shop then take it to another reputable company and have them go over the car. Then re-approach the first one to rectify or respond to the problems found. If the problems persist, see in this ...

Hehe.. Got oil leak? http://members.optusnet.com.au/jabboo/watagans_trip/slides/Picture%20014.jpg Was good fun, thanks for the pics Anthony. I went to fix that bash plate last night - I must've hit that rock HARD - the bolts twisted the whole chassis rail out - hopefully hasn't weakened it too much ...
