Re: intercoolers
if you do a search for "cross country intercooler" plenty of threads from the past will come up. i have a cross country top mount, yeah its good, but the wait time to get it was horrendous (3mths i think from payment). hopefully they got they act together in the couple of years since then. (i had a ...

me personally, i won't muck around cut and shutting a standard one in used on road. i would if i needed to for my trailered rig. buy an adjustable set, at least least for insurance purposes.

check where the wires come over the front of the motor passed the thermostat. mine came off their holdigns and were flopping against the fan. haven't had a tacho for a long time as as you said - drive them long enough you have a pretty good idea what rpm going on

i've been told a tb45 is only a tb42 stroked out. where it's the same blcok to take a carby head i do not know. if it was me in your situation i'd look to the efi option, but i dont know how much of a pain in the arse it might be, never done anything like that......yet!
Re: Gq info
i pretty sure standard diesel diff gears are 4.1. i believe standard petrol are 3.9 and the factory 4.6 gears are out of rd28t's. you will find that 4.6 diff gears with a n/a td42 will be difficult to highway drive on 33" tyres or smaller as you will be contantly changing 4th/5th on even the ...

i put a cross country intake on my ute, unfortunately i'm still coming out off the build up stage so going from a n/a td42 to one with a high mount, i/c and new intake manifold, i can't give any clear answers if it helps or not. i'm just super happy with the overall result.

i dont have a piranha set up so i'm not exactly sure how they operate, i run the sidewinder auto unit and the way they say to test it is working is this:

start the car, the main battery should start charging immediately, once the main ...

i suppose your waiting to get a cross country cooler??? i was told 4wks wait to start with, then 6wks, and now its been 8wks and i think they've only just started to my kit together. i feel your frustration, my only consulation is its for my car and not someone paying me to install one!!

Aluminium vs Copper/brass Radiator
hi,
after not finding a search topic that really answers my question - here it is:
in your opinion, is an aluminium or brass/copper radiator better for offroading?
i have a y60 td42, highmount, fuelled up, awaiting crosscountry4x4 intercooler, and needing a new radiator. hence my question
thanks ...

in a word yes. however since nissan stopped building them people have been asking 'inflated' prices for td42 variants - just look at y60 models. i probably paid to much for the last y60 diesel i bought but that was the going price a the time. the others have asked some interesteing questions, but ...
