I need to replace the front wheel bearings on my patrol but Im not sure what type to order.
I have a 1992 type 2 GQ patrol, ST model with auto locking hubs and rear disks?
Do I need to order the Y61 GU bearings or the older style ones that have a big nut to torque them up?
Thanks

Are regular clutches really that bad?
I need to buy a new clutch for a GQ Patrol. It has done around 300,000kms on what I presume is the factory clutch.
I have been quoted on a PBR clutch and a heavy duty of which I cannot remember the name. I'm told the PBR has a higher load rating then its OME counterpart.
So I guess my question ...

edit on the damage: I don't think the cast carrier is broken from a gear forcing it. It looks more like it has cracked under load. The crack goes back to the pin. On both pins the holes are severely ovaled out. I think the initial crack probably happened on a particularly tough section of track and ...

We are looking seriously at these lockers. They seem to get pretty good wraps on the UK forums axles and CV's can be upgraded as needed. With the GBP at its present level they look like much better value then ARB as well.

Broken diff = Time to upgrade.
My dad just put 33x12.5" MTZ on his 1995 Range Rover Classic before the long weekend. We did some pretty hard work over the weekend however surprisingly and fortunately the rear diff broke as we were leaving camp yesterday. (fortunately only because the rest of the weekend was heaps of fun)

Looking for a good mechanic near St.Kilda

Its in need of a full service, tune, and a couple of other bits including an exaust repair, clutch vacume issues, and the fuel mixer has just recently started playing up. It froze up the other day and I can smell gas when im using lpg so it running on petrol ...

Ok Im guessing your not to sure how to diagnose the various possibilities that people are throwing around.
First things first. Check that fuel is getting to the carby. this is easy, just remove the hose that runs between the fuel pump and and the carby. crank the engine. fuel should start pissing ...

engines wont be the only thing worn out on a car with that kind of kms. be prepared for high maintenance. a fully rebuilt jimny engine I think would probably be comparable/a little dearer then a sierra. they are pretty similar. It depends on how thourough the rebuild is. full rebuilds should cost ...

there are a few people in the suzi club running rear pintara calipers and disks. (I think its pintara) from all reports they work fine without the need to muck around with proportioning valves because they were always intended for the rear of a car and are smaller then front disk brakes. the other ...
