What size water pump for intercoler
Hi, I have a reasonably big water/air intercooler in my TD42 patrol and as it is a winch challenge truck I am going to mount a full size patrol radiator on the tray for the cooling with twin thermo fans and need to know what size water pump I need?? I'm looking at the Davies Craig electric water ...

Yes it is a disc brake rear but like I said if it was a bearing on the front or rear it would have the problem all the time but it's only on corrugated roads

Re: Fading brakes whilst driving on corrugations
Yeh thanks 76 tourer I mite look into rebuilding the calipers in the near future, and as you said broken vacuume line would create a hard pedal not send it to the floor so that kinda rules that out Thanks for your help everyone I'll look into redoing th calipers with a new set of discs and see how ...

Re: CQ XWC Teams event teaser
Hi Dave I am new to your events, but I am a regular at the WTC and other CQ comps. I have heard rumors that in your comps you require the vehicle, driver and navi to return to a fenced compound after each stage and remain there untill the next stage. Is this true?? If so what is the reasoning behind ...

Re: Fading brakes whilst driving on corrugations
Hi thanks for the replys
The wheel bearings have been checked more than once as that was my first idea.
And if it had warped discs it would happen all the time but it's only happening on corrugated roads only.
Any more ideas out there???

Fading brakes whilst driving on corrugations
I have a problem in my 92 GQ wagon, for every day driving my brakes seem to work fine on and off road, but as soon as I drive a section of corrugations for more than 5 or so seconds I go to ease the brakes to slow down and the pedal nearly hits the floor. It takes a good three pumps to get bake to a ...

Re: Best 35" tyre for comp work?
Maxxis by far are the best tyre either the treps or the creepys, i run the creepys myself and love them, im not a fan of the BFG crawlers as they dont seem to clear the mud from what ive seen and as said weak sidewalls. Simexes are good if you have foward momentum but as soon as u loose momentum ...

Hi, I am installing a set of 80series side gears into a GQ patrol ARB air locker for a mate. He is running a buds customs front diff in a jeep. My question is does anyone know if installing the thrust block into the locker interferes with the 80series long field axles. This happens when fitting ...

Hi mate on my winch challenge truck i have drilled and tapped a 1/8 bsp thead into the side of the motor and run an air line up into the dash as a breather and then fully sealed the motor with silicone, that way it still breathes but keeps water out

Well is this happening when you drive to work every day or when you go off road?? Because you didnt secify, if its happening whilst in 2wd ur tailshaft shouldnt be spinning so would lead me to think that something else is making the bad noises. On anuther note, i have seen the splines wear out ...

If they are out of phase this will defantly cause dramas, but sounds like you are cruising around with your hubs locked in, wich is not necessary unless going off road, bothe my gqs do this and my wagon only has 2" lift

Yes its a big cylider of nylon rubber not that little winch saver thing, Well ya see sheildsy we had a small incident at lowmead, and instead of winching the rear winch in i sucked the front winch in wich was allready tight so it completly bent my shocky in half so ill sell it to ya for a carton if ...

Neoprene winch damper/dildo, instead of old shockie
Hey guys, im looking for some one that supplys that neoprene rubber bar that some blokes use for a damper on ther warn highmounts to slow it down as the hook gets close to the winch. Most of us blokes up in CQ use an old moddified shockie, but on a recent trip to a comp down south i noticed a lot of ...

Re: MQ Coil Conversion
Correct me if im wrong but you are talking about rear diff swap??? Longfield make CVand axle sets for front diffs as do cal offroad, so a gq would be the better choice and unless ur running some serious HP, like 400hp+ and massive tyres you wont bust a gq rear end and 4.6 gears are readily available ...

Re: Winchin' motor tech on the up
hi, someone correct me if im wrong but i think a standard warn 6hp 12V motor runs around at 1650rpm, so at24V its going to be nearly double im presuming, so if you can build a 24V 7kw (9.3hp) motor that spins higher than say, 3500 you should be on a winner if thats how it works but hey im just a ...

im with twodiffs, drop boxes will correct your steering geometry better than any other form of castor correction, therefore resulting in near standard onroad handeling, if it still handles bad id be checking all the bushes in the front end and size and type of tyres will seriously affect onroad ...

hi if a cold chisle and hammer were use to remove nd install the lock nuts instead of a hub socket, then chances are when the lock nut gets tightned up the lock washer picks up on the sharp burs that are left from the chisle and it spins wich shears the little locating tab off therefore even if u ...
