bit of metho in the tank helps with water :)

i just bought new dizzy cap, rotor, leads and plugs will fit and see if that helps

my fan is on all the time so maybe that's the reason lots of water is thrown over the motor even when i enter water holes slowly

My Zook is afraid of the water

Hi all I have a problem thats leaving me scratching my head :crazyeyes:

i have a 89 sierra with 31's have extended shackles and bodylift



My zook used to have no problems with a little water but recently it has started getting fussy about getting wet if i head into anything anywhere near the top ...

ok mine is doing the same i was in the bush started clunking everynow and again from the rear wheel drove home when i pulled off the moterway and slowed down realised it was MUCH MUCH worse pulled up at home there is diff oil dribbeling out the drivers side wheel

All is fixed I drained the carby and the fuel tank replaced the fuel filter and re fueled the tank with around 15L then put about half a litre of metho in the tank it took about 5km down the road before the new fuel had worked its way through i pulled a U bolt and by the time i got home it was ...

yea i drained around 10 litres out of my fuel tank today i figured as water is heavier than fuel it would come out first or at least i should see some in the first 10L but it appeared fine
i undid the 14mm bolt on the front of my carbie and drained all the fuel out sprayed a crapload of cleaner in ...

my sierra is running again after giving it a good swim but not well appears there is water somewhere in the fuel system

so i have read dropping some metho into the fuel tank will remove moisture in the fuel system
it makes sense but anyone done it how well does it work

cleaned the connections on the starter gave it a tap and hey presto

okay i have read in past posts about pouring a litre of methalated spirits into fuel tank to help flush the system of water
soo if i drain the tank and fill it with fresh fuel and some metho good idear??

well i managed to drop my sierra into a decent water hole on the weekend left hand side got real deep, up to the window glass anyways air filter side of the bonnet stayed out just. i turned it off real fast
lucky some friendly locals dragged me out and after opening the doors and draining the water ...
