Yes it will all bolt on, I did it with mine. From memory the only thing thing I had to change was I put the Hilux cvs onto the 40 series axle shafts (this won't work if you've got a very early 40 with coarse spline axles) But I basically I used everything Hilux from the swivel hubs out.

Re: Plumbing brakes on a truggy
99% sure there were no factory disc 60s (someone will correct me if I am wrong haha). Its stupidly easy to fit lux discs onto a Fj40 full floating rear diff. Google is your friend. All I used on my one was early solid axle hilux discs an calipers. Made a bracket to attach the caliper. To attach the ...

Spare tyre swing out hubs
Does anyone know where I can buy trailer stub axle style spare tyre swing out hubs from?
I want to build a rear bumper with a swing out spare tyre holder. I've heard before that you can buy the stub axle with a straight steel hub (not the usual wheel hub with wheel studs) ready to weld your tyre or ...

Wow Marty 3 posts since joining in 06 lol, you got that 75 out an about yet?
You will only get about 40mm further forward by redrilling the spring perches IIRC, I drilled mine 30mm to fit 35's an the tie rod an drag link got very cosy. I had 2" OME springs an 35"s on 10" rims an they scrubbed a ...

Mine was supported by a new nylon bush I made up to replace the factory rubber one that is captured in the end of the steering column in the firewall right beside the uni you can see in the pic. A mate of mine bought a Bj40 with a 70 series column in it. It didnt have any of the stalks wired up but ...

Re: help with 40 series power steering
If the steering column was shorter then that intermediate shaft looks like it would be too short as well. When I converted my 40 I shortened the original column and got a local engineers shop to cut new splines on the end of it. If you really wanted to get better angles you could shorten the column ...

Doesn't look too bad, I've seen worse on factory steering set ups. If you clamp the box to the chassis an turn the shaft by hand, does it bind in the U/J's at all? Do you know what that other intermediate shaft is out of?

No it shouldnt hurt it at all. If its so thick it wont drain out id be looking at other causes, maybe wrong type of oil for one. What was the colour like. Could you see the black carbon particles in the oil? How much oil was in the sump?

If they're only a play tyre, is there any reason you don't want 35"s. if you're set on 33"s I'd stay away from mudzillas they're normally a very small 33. Mine measured under 32 with 15psi in them. My choice would be the simexs for a lux

2wd vs 4wd chassis (lux)
Can anyone tell me what differences there are between a 2wd hilux chassis an a 4wd chassis? Is the 4x4 chassis stronger/larger than the 2wd? Ive seen a few threads on Pirate where they converted later model luxes to 4x4 but no mention was made of any strength differences between the two..

If the pedal goes hard by pumping it then typically this is either caused by air in the system being compressed or excess caliper piston travel. Ive run Surf four pots all round with a surf master and an adjustable rear proportioning valve an the pedal an brake force was great
