My 3litre was also rebuilt under warranty mines a 2000. Goes alright its gets driven hard and so far holds up mint. I knew all the issues when buying it but know of several early ones going well over 300,000 trouble free.

Whats the difference between that and just a freestanding large tent. Whats the advantage of having it hanging off the car so you can't drive anywhere while it's setup?

Re: Ghetto paint job - tips and tricks
Looks tip top in that pic. Leave it alone cos rattle cans will make it even worse. Especially black, its not a good colour to go cheap on. Dont prime just scuff back the paint and paint it yellow again with solid 2k. Won't need clear over base an itll will come up trumps for little money and effort.

So are you talking the arch on an un laiden leaf or when it has load. The more arch the less droop, it isn't rocket science.

Unique Exhaust in Boronia, he listens to what you want, gets it up on the hoist and will run though it with you. Did my Hilux exhuast last year exactly as i wanted could not recomend them highly enough. Very well priced

Production class is stock body, stock engine, 4 inch sus lift and 35inch tyres. The basics anyway, with your 6 point cage being mandatory throughout. Challenge is open for custom's but other people have deeper pockets than i do so not going there yet.

I really need to keep a happy medium, I want the turbo diesel for touring duties and i want the factory ute for less panels and the usability camping and social wheeling. That is my argument to the missus to race anyway. So far she's on board haha

Well in production class i wont be comminting to much of the car to race only mods so regardless i'd still buy it, Jeep is no good to me as i want a tray to minimise panels to smash.

Production class, best car to start with..
I was contemplating racing the GQ next season in production class. Cheap to start with but due to limited mods its going to get beat up as a wagon, it's petrol carby so it's no power house.
Next plan is GU coil cab, Factory ute, 4.2 diesel can make good HP within guideline's, GU diffs and steering ...

How far back are crumple zone's on a full chassis vehicle? Surely there all at the front after the chassis ends. There not going to crumple up to the firewall as per most 5 star car's are designed. Does this engineer know what a GU is?
