you are correct, my mistake, the guage or wiring would most likely be faulty if the needle didnt move. If it did the sender would be the issue. Cheers

disconnect the wiring at the sender and earth out the wire or loop the terminals together at the connector just make a short jump wire, ( looping the wires may not give you a result if the earth wire is your problem best to short to earth ) you may have to wait 20- 30 secs for the guage to move ...

if you short the sender wire does the guage work? it should slowly move to fuel if the wiring and guage are working correctly. ( Ignition on if it normally reads empty with ignition off). If the guage doesnt move most likely faulty sender.

80 series auto loom

Have just put a complete motor (3F-E wiring loom included) in my 80 series auto and found one plug to the auto is different. Any idears on whether i can just swap the auto loom to suit?

So 3F-E s dont seem to grow on trees! A V8 conversion seems to be the way to go, anyone have any info on this subject. Think a chev with turbo 700 is the go. Any info would be appreciated

Noise was terminal will need a new motor, cracked block.
Anyone have a 3F or 3F-E for sale? Think i'll get away with short motor head might be ok

Hope this helps, clamp your lines before removing callipers ( clamps available from auto stores) this will prevent fluid loss from your master cyl (youll have to bleed this as well if you run out of fluid). Dont know about the discs

Have MK petrol 4 speed want to fit chev and diesel 5 speed, can i use the existing gearbox mounts ( tailshafts etc) and just modify the engine mounts
