Re: Sliders for a BT-50

I believe that Northside 4x4 at North Lakes will be importing a range of bars and sidesteps to suit a range of vehicles including the Freestyle BT-50.
Their web address is http://www.northside4x4.com.au

For those of you in SE Qld, Northside 4x4 at Caboolture also do a kit for the BT-50.
They fitted a larger intercooler, exhaust, K & N filter and snorkel to mine and the difference was amazing.
Heaps more power.
You can see the kit here

Nope.

When I bought my BT-50, one of the mods that was done was an upgrade to the suspension.

The rear being leaf spring suspension can be raised to suit the weight you are carrying ...

Hi Casa.

Can you give details on specifics?
Like horsepower and torque before and after?
What effect did it have on fuel economy?

Cheers

It seems strange that it has gotten higher over time because suspension will usually sag over time as it settles in and loosens up.
Have you approached whoever fitted it and asked them?

Well I am no expert, but as I understand it, being torsion bar front suspension limits what you can do on the front end. You can wind it up a bit but only a little.
Sounds like they have raised the rear more than 50mm.
Did you measure the height before and after the mod?
How was it done? Heavy duty ...

I have the freestyle cab, auto, c/w ARB canopy, roof rack, roller drawers chocka block full and I get 12ltr/100km.
Mind you I also have a bigger intercooler and an exhaust upgrade, so that probably contributes to better fuel economy as well as more power.
When it was brand new it was up at 14ltr ...
