Re: Patrol Engine upgrade.

I wasn't even going to look at this thread as I thought I knew exactly what it would be about from the subject line! Never judge a book.......

What a pi ss take!

Someone was very bored and highly imaginative...

Re: oil cooled only turbo for td 42

Just a quick note on oil cooled only. I bought a second hand Denco turbo kit from a mate (knowing full well that mine would be the third truck it would be home to) and it died in the last couple of days (I've owned it for about 70,000). Annoying and inconvenient as this was it has had a hard life in ...

Re: Water to air intercooler

Not sure what engine you have your pump on but on my TD42 there is no possible way I can hear the water pump above the noise of the engine.. Let alone the two thermo fans.. I understand what u mean it does sound loud when it's on by itself, but there is no time when I have it runnin by itself.

Re: Water to air intercooler

Didn't notice a power difference as such but it revs out a bit quicker and harder and we were able to wind a few more pound of boost in as well. Used to feel a bit gutless above 2800rpm and now according to the dyno peak power is at 3000! So it quite easily revs to 3400-3500 now.. Especially with ...

Re: Water to air intercooler

Hah.. He didn't have that as a kit when we ordered two of them about 2 yeas ago. But that is the same kit I have minus the reservoir. I just found some aluminum elbow and made up a flange plate and got them all welded together. Couple of silicone bends and it's ready to go.

Re: Water to air intercooler

Hey mate if ur talking about the frozenboost/siliconeintakes kits, they're great! I have one that I custom ordered from him with the Bosch cobra pump (make sure u do this as otherwise ur kit will be shipped with a bilge pump) and I wanted a long flow cooler (similar in design to the PWR barrels ...

Re: taking off gas system on diesel??

Apparantly it's the black series but also says v2 turbo.. I dont think I have the silver control unit. My system runs a manifold pressure line from the manifold -> hob switch T-piece -> the gas converter. The only adjustment I have is at what boost pressure the system begins to inject (via the ...

Re: taking off gas system on diesel??

Hey Andy Sorry for the noob reply, but by hob switch do u mean what they refer to in the diagrams as the "MAP sensor" ( realy just a boost sensing switch used to tell gas system when to inject) wouldnt bridging this make it inject gas on idle and decel? I haven't bridged it as I was unaware I needed ...

Re: taking off gas system on diesel??

Ive got a D-Gas system that i have just got running as well and i love it. same as Andy i installed it myself so im still tuning the system but the difference without having the gas turned on is massive. did you get your truck dyno tuned again once you put the kit on Andy? im unsure whether it ...

Re: Roof rack fabrication

Ive been toying with this idea lately aswell.. So would also appreciate any available info. One thing to check up on though is how much Powdercoating it will cost. I don't know about you but I don't want rust dripping all over my roof. The other thing I thought I would do was get the steel place to ...

AGREED! Patrols would have to one of the easiest vehicles I have ever worked on.. So much room everywhere!! I just opened up the hubs for the first time yesterday to add some slotted rotors.. Saved myself $200-$300 and learned how to do something new.. Won't ever pay someone else to do my wheel ...
